I'm a retired SHW strongman. I still lift, but merely recreationally now - I can still do all the events, but not in one day anymore, and I don't do some of the more dangerous ones. (EG, I'm quite strong) Is the desire to "let go" and really "enjoy" a sub natural? Is it abusive? (I've slipped a couple times, and grabbed/bit much too hard - left some pretty significant bruises.)

Bruising isn't necessarily a problem, if you find someone who wants to play to the level you want to achieve. You may have difficulty doing that, and I wouldn't recommend going over someone's limits, so pace yourself!

Natural? You bet. Abusive? Could be. The trick is to get informed consent. That means, you need to negotiate beforehand and discuss the semantics of words. "Grab me!" to her might mean wrapping an arm around her waste and pulling her close while, to you, it might mean catching her arm in a vise-like grip. It makes a difference. Master Fire

I am interested as well... been running a group of subs for awhile now. as many as 9 or 10 at a time... some have a definition that is nothing harder than a slap akin to that across a child's bottom for lying. Others bring pieces of wood for me to beat them with. I can take it or leave it.. the actual beating part, but I do enjoy a woman who gets off on pain. I don't want to do tissue damage, but I could use help figureing out how to cause extreme pain without injury.

Great question. As a semi-casual lifter myself I've found myself in situations where I worry if I "let go and enjoy myself" I'll end up breaking the girl. From my limited experiences I've found that telling a girl you're worried doesn't usually communicate anything, a simple demonstration of "I can lift this easily, keep that in mind when you ask me to get rough" helps get a lot across and leads to a lot of informed fun.

I don't feel that the desire to let go is unnatural at all. However, as the Dominant, she has placed herself in a very vulnerable position of trusting you not to harm her, so it would be wise that you retain some semblance of control over your actions. Bruises will heal soon enough. Loss of trust...not so much.
