No it's not. It is a common sense step forward. This will do what smoke alarms (which work poorly at best) can't do.

Its good you feel that way= the UN makes these rules-- so much for "private property". Oh- all states are set to have this same requirement. So YAY for red tape. Yay for leaking water pipes in the ceiling- but hey- it goes with that Chinese dry wall.

The government has an interest in reducing the possibility of house fires.

That said, I wonder how much the system will add to the cost of the house.
