Charles6682 -> Legal Marijuana? (12/29/2010 7:15:52 PM)

There is a product out there that is often referred to as "legal marijuana".Now,this isn't anything like the real marijuana but it does produce a "high" that is somewhat simliar to marijuana.The name of the product fall's under different name's.K2 and Spice are just a few of the name's.It is actually a incense.Now,I have tried this stuff a few times.It is not my type of buzz but I don't see anything wrong with it.It is usually sold in "tobacco" shops.Now the DEA has decided to put a one year ban on this product.It could be said minors may be trying this stuff.If thats true,then they should regulate this much better.However,to ban it is a foolish idea.Once again,something else besides alcohol is being outlawed.

The government want's to make sure that alcohol is the only legal "buzz" out there.Of course,if real marijuana was legal,this would be a whole different story.That's for another topic.We all know the government does not give a crap about someones health.Thats why cigarettes and alcohol are perfectly legal.This is another attempt to tell someone what is better best for you.People dont know any better,so they need Big Brother to make sure they tell you what you can do.

This post makes a strong argument for keeping marijuana illegal...

I know,your a conservative,right?Whats that,less government you say?!Really.I guess conservatives just promote "lip service" when they say less government and more personal freedom.I mean,at least be honest with everyone,conservatives dont really believe in smaller government.Its not like conservatives are really fooling anyone anyways.

servantforuse -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/29/2010 7:33:02 PM)

Do you know what is in this 'new marijuana' ?

DarkSteven -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/29/2010 9:18:19 PM)

Dunno why the DEA is getting involved.  Wouldn't this be under the purview of the FDA until it's been tested?

In my opinion Cigarettes and Alcohol need to be illegal if marijuana continues to be illegal.

Aside from that what stops the kiddies from getting the real marijuana, alcohol, and cigarettes? Absolutely nothing.

I think that the DEA is involved because tests on the product revealed that the 'natural herbs' listed to make up the ingredients were in fact not present, but instead synthetic compounds were found. Something to that effect, making it a synthetic 'drug' instead of a natural herb blend.

I don't know why pot remains illegal, seems silly to me, but synthetic drugs that are being marketed as natural medicinal herbs is not something I'd want to stand behind (or use), simply because it makes ya feels good, jes like good ol mary juwanna.

Charles6682 -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/29/2010 9:55:32 PM)

I personally dont do this stuff.I tried it a few times but it isnt really for me.Frankly,real marijuana should be legal.I'm sure alot less people would be doing this "legal" stuff.I do believe they should know exactly what is in this stuff,no doubt.However,I dont believe they are doing it for the public healths well being.I think it is just another attempt for big brother to get in the way.It should be the FDA as far as I'm concerned that should be checking to find out exactly what is in this stuff.I would have thought that the government would have already known what was in this "legal" pot.What I do know is that it is considered an "incense".

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 4:18:09 AM)

I dunno why they don't just make the real marijuana legal.  Nobody liked the new coke, no one wants fake marijuana.

Termyn8or -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 4:55:04 AM)

To OP Chas.....

Did you ever wonder why pot is illegal in the first place ? Really, if a bunch of guys sit down with the dictator of a country and they talk about what the herd should be allowed, why ever would pot be banned ? Like locoweed for horses or catnip for cats.

Well there are two reasons. The first is that paper, oil and drug companies had to shut it down. Hemp has many uses. Canibas Sativa has almost a myriad of drugs in it that can cure some diseases, and treat many others. In fact it is legalized for the few, for glaucoma and cancer patients, but only because to do otherwise would be seen as abuse by the majority, and even that took decades. People were born into it, they have no fucking right to tell you what to grow, smoke or drink or eat for that matter.

Pot calms you down. After a nice fattie you are no longer thinking about getting ahead of the Jones', having a bigger car, a louder stereo (exceptions exist) or a more powerful lawnmower, sawzall or a higher chain link fence. This hurts the ECONOMY. You see it is their economy not our's. They treat it with respect and we are nothing but cogs in the machine.

Hemp is also very useful in industry, and would significantly cut into the hegenomy of the King petroleum. Hemp can produce the aromatic components, the fibrous content and the vehicle (look up paint) for the production of plastics that are cheaper (it's a weed), and more durable (they love it when you break things, buy another) and longevity (it breaks itself). Petroleum based plastics are a waste, truly. And Ken is going to be here telling me I am full of shit, but that's CM. I'd get the fuck rid of him if he wasn't so much fun. But these are facts.

Oh, I mentioned the paper industry did I ? Well I guess I am compelled to expound on that. Ummm, the Constitution is written on hemp paper.

Bookum Danno, send those 535 assholes where they belong, and I don't mean jail,  TO THE GALLOWS.

One day you may know for sure that I am not kidding, not even in the least. Not one iota of kidding in this statement. Line them up and shoot them. Fuck them. They have no right to deprive us of a WEED. A WEED. Not weed, A WEED. It used to grow all over the place. Nature put it there and they took it away so we would have no alternative but to BUY their PRODUCTS.

Same with Hearst, remember Patty ? That's what her Daddy did. Big money. Money that helped to keep pot illegal no matter what the People think. And they are not the problem, the bribe givers (lobbyists) are not the problem. It is the bribe takers who are the problem (your elected officials).

Want more ? Just ask.

Smoking a new synthetic drug when you have no idea what is in it, even a few times, borders on the insane to me.

Moonhead -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 5:52:48 AM)

Oh, tell me about it. There's plenty of stories about people getting messed when ketamine started going around as "vitamin k" and the unobservant thought it was just another brand of ecstasy...

servantforuse -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 5:59:21 AM)

I also think that marijuana should be legal. This stuff Charles is trying and thinks should be unregulated is a whole new ballgames.

tazzygirl -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 6:01:49 AM)

Oddly enough, pot isnt legal in Portugal.

Termyn8or -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 6:12:47 AM)

I don't care what anyone says, this grows in the ground. They can all go fuck themselves.

vixenkneels -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 6:12:50 AM)

I live in the so-called belt buckle of the bible belt. K2 began getting popular here with teens and after several of them began experiencing bad side effects that required hospitalization towns in MO began passing city ordinances against the likes of K2 and Salvia. Finally the bible thumping politicians here decided to pass a state law to make the selling of K2 and Salvia illegal. Now, MO still has a high rate of alcoholism, drunk driving abounds, meth labs are running full bore and millions and millions of dollars are being used to police marijuana, K2 and salvia instead of law enforcement concentrating on meth, coke, heroine, etc. and the myths of marijuana "addiction" keep it's legalization from happening.

While I'm tired of losing my freedoms (I'm a child of the 60's) I understand why it's happening...apathy and a need to legislate based on personal preference rather than on educated reasoning. How long do you think it's gonna be before the feds enact laws against K2 and salvia, while continuing to keep cigarettes and alcohol legal?

Termyn8or -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 6:16:20 AM)

vixen, legalize ? Legalise something from creation itself ? Who do they think they are ? Who died and made them able to make it illegal in the first place, did you ever think of that ? No, because you were born into it.

Think about it.

vixenkneels -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 6:23:40 AM)

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!! I said I'm a child of the 60's and I'm NOT all grown up. Who gave them the right to make it illegal..WE DID!!! We voted them in based on their looks, their sex appeal, the support of perhaps only one issue dear to our hearts, based on the news media who I feel truly gets the top ranking politicians elected with their very biased campaign coverage.

I don't believe anything natural, grown in the ground should be allowed to be declared illegal. But in defense of Missouri's decision to outlaw K2 it was because there were chemicals being added to enhance the affects of the K2 and since the majority of the K2 appears to be imported we all know what the Chinese, Tiwanese, etc. can add to any product they sell to us. Remember when cigarettes had NO chemicals? IF K2 had remained a pure, earth grown product Im certain it would still be legal.

Termyn8or -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 6:49:40 AM)

Well let's say they have the right to outlaw additives.

Now read the ingredients of what you buy at the grocery store.

It all comes back to one thing, need I utter it's name in print here ?

allthatjaz -> RE: Legal Marijuana? (12/30/2010 9:27:56 AM)

The problem with K2 is its partly made up of synthetic cannabinoids and because our natural cannabinoids receptors (yes most of us have them) are particularly complex, they don’t team up well with synthetic cannabis. This can lead to complications like heart palpitations and shortness of breath instead of  that chilled out feeling that natural cannabis brings. Fortunately K2 has now been banned in the UK and I personally think it should be banned world wide.
I do however, think that natural cannabis should be legalised. We often go to Holland, where cannabis is legal. Its strange walking into those little shops where a cannabis expert is mixing blends and a well dressed gentleman is advising people about a drug that is illegal in most other countries in the western world. They have cafes (brown cafes) where people sit openly smoking a joint with their coffee. Interestingly Holland doesn’t have the drug problem that we have here in the UK. The crime rate is so low that they are closing prisons down! Personally I don’t smoke but I would far rather sit with a bunch  of dope smoking people than a bunch  of people getting high, loud and aggressive on alcohol.
