AzLeatherMan -> What life event made you desire to be a submissive? (1/1/2011 12:25:14 PM)

I am wondering what life event caused others to desire to be a submissive. I desired to be a male submissive following an experience with a 35 year old woman who spanked me when I was a teenager.

I was born.

I have no memory of ever not having kink and power dynamics in my fantasies. As a child I was drawn towards the characters who slung women around. My first loves where Rhett Bulter, John Wayne, Han Solo, Indiana Jones and I found myself strangely intoxicated by the Phantom of the Opera. Both by the scarred  Phantom who possessed the singer's mind and the determined Viscount who plowed through her objections to falling in love.

i'm more along the line of AquaticSub -- a lot of my early fantasies were really kinky, with male Dominance as a central theme.
i was raised really old-fashioned and did NOT want to absorb that, so i was slightly disappointed in myself when i met M and realized that being submissive made me happy. =p haha

oh well!

As for me it was not just one thing but a  hosts of nuns, catholic guilt, and getting beat a lot. But I don't know still trying to figure it out in a way I remember I use to like to tie up my balls when I was very small so maybe I have always been this way.

Aqua and BoPeep pretty much said it.....even tho I was considered a femnist in school...I didn't take any crap from anyone about the whole female vs male thing, deep down, the fantasies had definite D/s overtones.

What actually brought me into the life was boredom....I was bored one night, typed in BDSM into my search engine and voila!  I discovered that I wasn't just some weirdo, that there was a whole bunch of people who felt the same way.  OMG!!  what a relief!  And the ride has been fantastic since that night!

This. Except I like the Phantom a lot better than the other guy.

There is no life event. I am a submissive personality. I grew up in a culture where husband is head of household, the leader. Wife is the follower. It's what I'm comfortable in and what i seek  in a partner.

It sounds like you desired to be a bottom, not a submissive

Your question, "what life event caused others to desire to be a submissive", makes as much sense to me as if you asked what life event caused others to desire to be... heterosexual.

Was born this way.  Didn't really know there were more folks like me until I had a computer and internet connection.

When that doctor held me upside down by my little heels and smacked my little ass to make me cry, I knew. [8|]

Good question---My Mom was the dom half of a female led household. She ruled over my dad, brother, and me. She gave my sister a free pass for everything. My sister has grown up to be just like her. My brother rebeled and doesn;t have anything to do with the family after he graduated and left home, and I have become a lot like my dad a submissive. So what does that say about why we all turned out the way we were I don't know

Hitting puberty. The hormones flooded in and I began figuring out what I wanted in sex, romance, and a relationship.

Born this way.  When I knew about it was the first time I saw Catwoman (Julie Newmar) on TV.  When she snapped the whip and kicked her boys around, I got instantly hard.  I wasn't even in kindergarten yet.

Finding a Dom. :)

6 months ago I would have denied with my last breath that I was submissive in ANY WAY WHAT SO EVER.

Then I met Him. And his Domination made me feel safe enough to submit and be my authentic self.

@ Carmesie -- isn't it nice when you find that? ^_^ that's how it was for me, too.
