GoreanMasterSton -> Is Paddles NYC in danger of being closed? (4/30/2006 10:25:24 PM)

A friend just sent me a link to a post on a website called maxfisch for professional femdoms.
http://www.maxfisch.com/thehang/showthreaded.php?Cat=2,3,4&Board=discuss&Number=796052&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
The gist of the post was that a femdom dungeon called the Den of Iniquity was moving in with another dungeon called Pandora’s Box. For those of you not in the NYC area Pandora’s Box is attached to PaddlesNYC one of the last public play spaces in the area for the life style scene. The part of this that is disconcerting is that Den of Iniquity has announced that they will have a separate entrance from Pandora’s Box. The only other entrance into the location is through Paddles. Is it true that we may be loosing our last play space to a professional femdom dungeon. This could be devastating to the New York BDSM community. Paddles is the host of events for important organizations such as The Eulinshpigal Society (T.E.S.), Dom Sub Friends and is definitely a cultural hub of the NYC community.

Has any one heard any thing about this?

I believe Paddles has a yahoo group, although I can't recall the url at the moment.  It might be paddlesnyc or paddlesclubnyc.  Anyway, why not take it to the horses mouth and ask Micheal on that list?

I just asked the question point blank on the thread in question and no one responded. I have done several sessions at Pandora's Box, attended Paddles and did some of the wiring in that building so I can say better then most that if they are using a separate entrance it means that they will be going strait through Paddles. I hope I'm wrong.

They haven’t approved my account on the site yet so thanks for checking. Let me know if you hear any thing before I do.

Having been to Paddles many times in the past (although not living in the area now), I would hate to see it close.  Many of my friends continue to play there (I imagine), and it is one of the few (only?) such places still in NY.  I did see on Max Fisch that someone (Mistress Tara Indiana?) stated that there "would be a Paddles."   As to the Yahoo group, I linked to it directly from Paddles' website (http://www.paddlesnyc.com/), and joined immediately.  No moderator OK was needed. paul
