The global warming/cooling kooks belong to a religion, not science. Their high priest is that silly al gore. One reason I don't like them gorean types because they have "gore" in whatever they do. They need better p.r. haha.

Well, that seems fair enough.

Show me the scientific data you have that disputes this "kooky" religion.

I agree.    ...not to be a wet blanket but rap music is way worse punishment then the warming could be.

Duly noted. It would be nice to see a day when rap that goes against the format of bling/hoes/22-inch rims/guns/money gets the respect that it deserves, without being dissed just because it's rap.  But I understand that no art form is for everyone.  I think that the back-and-forth of the humorous debate works best in hip-hop format, as the beat really helps to compliment the rhythm of the conversation, but I understand that for some people rap=crap no matter what.   I just can't get into Country music, so I try not to judge.

I'll take this opportunity to point out though, that sentences that begin with "Not to be [insert negative thing here]" and then continue with "but" tend to be the most frustratingly hypocritical statements in the history of words.

PyrotheClown -> RE: Best political debate on Climate change EVER! lol (1/3/2011 8:16:56 PM)

Really couldn't figure out why the stereo type, it'd be like hating all of rock music cause of blink 182

LOL, are they bringing up "peer review" again?
Well, I guess if the Marx bros needed some "peer review" who better to do it than Larry, Moe and Curly?
"Peer review! Woo, woo, woo, woo woo!"

CynthiaWVirginia -> RE: Best political debate on Climate change EVER! lol (1/3/2011 8:40:09 PM)

Too bad this is a youtube thing.  My ancient, crippled lil computer cannot do anything that needs Adobe Flash Player or runs like a movie.

I was interested in ths, because I thought I understood about the greenhouse effect theory but...I just spent almost the entire month of December snowed in.  I am used to getting just a dusting that month, or maybe an inch that melts off by the next day.

Guess I will have to go under search and look under greenhouse effect in past threads to see what everyone had to say.

PyrotheClown -> RE: Best political debate on Climate change EVER! lol (1/3/2011 8:40:54 PM)

HAr de har har

just keep in mind that most arguments against climate change are the same kind of weak arguments against evolution.

And most arguments (for) ,...is it "climate change" or "global warming" that they're calling it this week,.... are the same kind of arguments the "9-11 Truthers" are using.

PyrotheClown -> RE: Best political debate on Climate change EVER! lol (1/3/2011 8:48:58 PM)

sorry, un aware of any educational or scientific institutions that have yet to support the "truther" movement...or maybe that's all part of the conspiracy

ClassIsInSession -> RE: Best political debate on Climate change EVER! lol (1/3/2011 8:49:40 PM)

My arguments against climate change are not against climate change but against man-made global warming. There are natural solar events, one of which is beginning to gear up that cause climate change. It happened in the middle ages and perhaps we don't know enough about accurate and scientific weather data dating back that far to be certain this isn't the most direct and simple answer to the equation. That said, the climate has certainly changed, decade to decade and year to year for some time now and it seems actually that the seasons have shifted slightly.

When alot of the "scientific" data is full or errors, or downright lies it discredits the scientists who do the research...and that is unfortunate. I am very pro being a good steward of the planet and I work constantly in my own life to find better, greener and more efficient ways to live, however, I don't think this needs to be legislated as an excuse to create widespread taxation.

Hey, maybe the "Obama Birthers" should team up with the "Climate Changers", but,.....would that piss off the "Global Warmers?"

yeah, there's alot of natural causes for climate change(heck...we might have been artificially staving off an ice age for the last 100 or so years for all we know)
but at the same time..pumping a shit load of chemicals into the air(to the extent to cause acid rain, smog related tree die off, ect.) probably has some effect too

and most of the "game changing" regulations/taxations wouldn't really be directed towards individuals, since the most damage you or I can personally do is pretty minimal, but towards industry, especially in places like India and china where they don't give a F#CK

Made enough money off the tea partiers to know that most of the "birthers" and the "climate change is a myth" types are already teamed up.
