I spent new years eve a local gay bathhouse, more to have somebody to kiss at midnight than anything else. After playing for a bit, I snuggled up with Rob, my kiss partner. We were having a nice conversation. The other guys in the room seemed to think that a couple of my comments were hilarious. I was just going for colorful. Do you folks think these are so funny?

On what supposedly awaits a Muslim suicide bomber in paradise: "Who the hell wants 72 virgins? Just give me two or three guys who know what they're doing!"

When one of Rob's friends claimed to be a virgin, and Rob asked, 'Can you imagine having a friend like that?': "I do have a friend who says he's a virgin. Even though I know he's been with more guys than I have."

Seriously, the second one wasn't intended as a joke at all. In retrospect, I did sound like a major slut. But what's so funny about that?

It was funnier when Billy Connolly said it about 7 years ago, to be honest.

Although I suppose you could take heart from the fact you and he are on the same wavelength.

Rapier: Does Billy Connolly look or sound anything like George Carlin? After I had said it, it dawned on me that I think I had heard it somewhere before, but I was picturing George Carlin. I'm not familiar with Billy Connolly.

And yeah, I guess you could kind of say they look sort of alike ... "windswept and interesting" is how Billy once sarcastically described himself ...

ETA: That video's from 2006/7, but I first heard him saying it somewhere around 2004/5, if memory serves.
