Madame4a -> January check in? (1/3/2011 2:13:22 PM)

Wow.. did I miss it?  I looked and couldn't find it...

I hope folks are doing well and that the holiday season, if you celebrate, was good for you.. .mine was lovely.  We had an open house on Christmas eve complete with theme and hand made invitations.  It was lovely and came off beautifully but was way too much work on top of normal holiday stuff...

I'm not sure if I posted in December but just before Thanksgiving my Mom ended up in the hospital which resulted in the second rushed crazy trip down to Florida for us... and the last.  Long story short, we are bringing Mom up here at the end of this week to assisted living.  None of this is easy but I know its a good and right decision.

on the leather front... its been way too busy but we manage to keep things alive...

Mid Atlantic Leather is in less than two weeks and we are very much looking forward to it...

How is everyone?

It IS January! I am so not ready. Tax season approaches, and I am expecting much slowness. This will give me time to find another job.

Xmas is over, yay! Mom is still dealing with Reclast fallout, dad is fine. Jed the parrot of Adventure is a happy guy.

My toybag is in the closet, for the next little bit. I am also taking the advice of wise friends, and not getting involved in predator issues. Just taking a big step back from the "public" scene generally. I continue to herd cats and fight trolls on The Site That Dare Not Speak Its Name, of course.

Lady H,
Herding cats? I learn something new every day. :)

I am sooo glad the holidays are fucking OVER! Things have slowed down at work and I dont have to hear the same 12 christmas songs day after day after day.

The relationship is going well too. She is actually becoming much more comfortable in taking control of the relationship itself, and letting me take care of her. She had me give her a footrub this weekend, and is feeling more and more comfortable with telling me what she would like to eat, or bring with me. Im surprised that she has taken to it so quickly, but I am very happy that she is [:)]

We turned 40, buzzed Our hair and added a slave to the household. elcca has been in service for a few months and a visit this past weekend confirmed what we had both been thinking. So, now we are three!

Another vote for being glad that the holidays are over and I'm looking forward to having a quieter, less excessive January.  I've eaten too much, played too much, and burned the candle at both ends too much.  In short, I'm feeling My age.  I want to do it all the same way I did ten years ago, but the reality is that can't always happen.  Kind of funny when you need a holiday after your holiday.  LOL.

LadyRian -> RE: January check in? (1/4/2011 11:28:08 AM)

I'm glad the holidays are over too. They can be fun, but things get so hectic.
Just trying to keep things together, dealing with aged parent issues right now, so I've been really focused on that. On the leather scene- not much. Making sure Mum is doing well takes a lot of focus. She deserves that.
And Geoff, that's great! All the best to you there, it sounds as if it's really going well for you. w00t!

Glad the holidays are over, now I want the cold to end. Might try to return to Phoenix again, or somewwhere warm for a couple of months. Look forward to some extensive traveling this year.

a happy new year to all, full of health happiness and prosperity!

the holidays were nice, first ones in the new home so i tried to do things a little differently, baked my fool head off, about 10 dozen cookies and a dozen pans of brownies for family, friends and neighbors. i was keeping things low key on purpose this year, wanting to concentrate more on family. i got a lovely little cinnamon pine cone "tree" from the oldest, the mentally challenged kid, they stuck the stem end in a dollop of plaster and hot glued beads to the "branches" for those of you who have littles you'd like to do similar craft type stuff with. it's cute and smells great! the boys said this christmas was the best one we'd had in awhile, that made me feel pretty good about it all. we went back home for the family gathering type stuff and even got to spend some time with old friends, which leads me to the newest love in my life, lol. he's an 11 week old akc chihuahua, an adorable little man we've named teddybear. he looks like a little black bear, his pic is in my profile. he's just adorable! i wish i'd had the camera handy a few minutes ago, i would have caught him sleeping in my slipper. my friend breeds the dogs and this was one from her last litter she hadn't found a home for. i have a fantastic son who made arrangements to trade moving help for the fee for the puppy for my christmas gift. he's such a good kid! i raised one of them right, lol!

new years was marked with the oldest, the other two were at a friend's home. it was quiet and relaxed, i made our traditional meal and then the next day i made the usual ham and homemade potato salad. it's nice to have such a big kitchen to work in. i've been busy doing the annual de-clutter since the evening of the first, another tradition, lol. some people do spring cleaning, i do new year cleaning. i'll be purging through the end of the month, closets, cabinets, files, you name it. i can't believe how much crap still made the move six months ago after i thought i'd gone through it all! i'll tackle the shed in the spring. we're starting to plan our projects for new paint and decorating starting with the front bedroom and working our way back to my room eventually. the youngest has his eye on an oriental theme for his room.

on a personal note, not dating, not looking really don't give a damn anymore. i'd like to find someone, but i have yet to even chat casually with anyone who makes an impression. friendly enough folks are out there to bs with, but relationship caliber has yet to crawl out of the woodwork. no big deal, as long as i have b.o.b. i'm good, lol!

all the best to you all, i hope this is a better year for everyone!

It's been a tumultuous new year for me... Ended things with the poppet a few weeks before Christmas. Sad, but had a pretty major breakdown in trust and couldn't continue. The new year finds me once again looking for the right girl to serve me, and with a resolution to require honesty and transparency in my relationships from here out.

I hope all of you are well, and that your lives are blessed.
