LadyPact -> Areas that shouldn't require training. (1/4/2011 4:44:44 PM)

After watching a good number of threads that have been coming up around here, I thought it might be educational to have Dominant women contribute to a thread about training and areas we expect new submissives to know, whether they are new to the lifestyle or not.

I'll start off and then everyone can join in........

Manners - I refuse to accept the idea that I should have to train anyone in common courtesy.  A male should know how to speak to a woman and treat her with dignity.  That includes written communication.  All of those lessons that your Mother taught you apply, whether you're talking to kinky people or not.

Clothing - I honestly expect a submissive to know that most people have no real desire to look at his ass or his genitals.  That includes profile pics.  Think about it, guys!  How many people do you know in your real life that honestly want to see these parts of your body?  If you know some that do, I want you to think about how few they are when compared to the entire population.

Character - I should not have to teach you right from wrong.  That was the job of the person that raised you.

Ignorance - Ignorance is never acceptable as there is always a cure for it.

Decorum -  Until you get to know someone, there really is a thing that is commonly known as TMI.

Meeting a DOMINANT woman. Guess what, guys, we are WOMEN. We are just like other women in the world, except that we are dominant and kinky. We still have jobs, lives, bills to pay, all that other stuff. Those gals who want you to hand over authority at the first meeting? PORN FANTASIES.

TITLES:  Please keep in mind that I am not your Goddess / Mistress / Queen. When you address Me, please use the name you see on My profile or here in the forums. Better yet, ask Me how I care to be addressed.

Keep it up.  This thread is already producing some gems.

Lady Pact,
Unfortunately the art of Chivalry and being a Gentlemen seems to have gone by the wayside. It is a lost art with the age of the internet. The funny part is, its the small things in life we take for granted that can have the biggest impact on others. The simple act of holding a door open, pulling the chair out for the lady at dinner, or just asking how your day was can make a big impact.

Basic house keeping/ time management skills- If you cant control your own life and keep your own apartment/house in order, how can you expect to give up control to another person.

slavekal -> RE: Areas that shouldn't require training. (1/4/2011 5:53:43 PM)

I could not agree more. It does not take any special education to know how to take a shower and get a haircut and stay out of a woman's personal space. I am constantly appalled at the dumb crap I see.

Tantriqu -> RE: Areas that shouldn't require training. (1/4/2011 6:21:10 PM)

I'll echo the common courtesy:
DO: say please and thanks, and be prompt/ on time/ available. The sexiest thing a man can do on a date, vanilla or otherwise, is hold the door . . . for the little old lady behind me.

Don't: act like a 'do-me' bottom;
call yourself or anyone else a bitch; or
lie on your profile ["Welllll, i said i was sub/single/straight/local/available, but I will be . . . soon . . . prob'ly . . .maybe . . . kinda . . . sorta . . . would like to be . . . except now i'm a switch married bi- guy in jail in the Torres Straits, but that shouldn't matter."]

It's not that they CAN make a big impact, it's actually that they DO....

Maybe I am terribly old fashioned but simple manners will never go out of style! it's not submissive, it's not dominant, it's just a sign that you are a thinking adult and weren't raised by a bunch of wild wolves (and no offense meant to a wolf pack, who usually doesn't introduce themselves by showing their dicks)

timex4u -> RE: Areas that shouldn't require training. (1/4/2011 7:28:30 PM)

We men are so impulsive and so insecure... Especially men who fantasize about giving up power but only as a sort of temporary game... They really don't have a deep sense of respect for women or for anyone else for that matter... we men are often, as Rita Rudd says, like bears with furniture... Ha...! Your humblest and most obediant... ~G

Depends on whether you burn your hand.

I'd add to that statement that the art of being a lady has gone by the wayside as well. Just as every man is not necessarily a gentleman, not every woman is a lady.

LPslittleclip -> RE: Areas that shouldn't require training. (1/4/2011 9:06:30 PM)

reading the profiles of the person before contacting. read postings to see what they think and why and listen and pay attention to them.

Taking rejection well.

I honestly can't deal with somebody who will sing my praises to the high heavens at one moment, then attempt to degrade me into doing their bidding.

That's just a little too moody for me.

sexyred1 -> RE: Areas that shouldn't require training. (1/4/2011 9:19:24 PM)

May a submissive female say that all that has been suggested here is also relevant to what submissive women  expect from Dominant men?

None of this behavior should require training above and beyond what one's mother might have taught them as LadyPact said.

SweetDommes -> RE: Areas that shouldn't require training. (1/4/2011 9:31:54 PM)

Honestly, it applies across the board. We've been contacted before by female submissives who could use a few lessons in manners. And I know people who identify as dominant, switch, submissive, male, female, straight, gay, bi, whatever - all of whom could use a few lessons ... preferably applied with a 2x4 to the head to help them sink in faster LOL

I do agree with pretty much everyone so far - manners, and paying attention to the PERSON being contacted are up there at the top of the list, and in general, if you have those, the rest will fall into place.

I was always happy to or wanting to see my x's butt, he had a mighty fine ass in my opinion, course just cause I liked it didn't mean others would be so hot to trot to view it I understand.
