I haven't read this thread and I haven't viewed your profile but the above little bit caught my attention and I wanted to comment.
First off...welcome.
Second...being new is something we've all been at one point in time. Sometimes folks forget that. I'd like to suggest you take the time to look over the various threads posted on the Administrative Announcements found at the top of the main forum page. Lots of interesting information in regards to the message boards and such.
Third...if you're having difficulty with expressing yourself exactly as you'd like in your profile, I'd suggest you do a search for "profile help" or something like that using the search feature found in the upper right hand corner of the main forum page.
Yes, most folks are pretty literal with regard to posts here and what you put in a profile....it's the nature of the online beast. I like to think of a profile as an advertisment and the product being sold is YOU. Be honest and upbeat without being too sickly-sweet of glossing over reality and you'll be on the right track. A fairly mainstream/vanilla photo would also be helpful...be sure to include your partner if that applies.
Be sure to be as clear as possible with what you're looking for and what you can offer a person. If you want simply an occasional play partner with no power dynamic (D/s or M/s)...make that clear.
If you're more poly inclined or are looking to make this a more friendship/play/relationship/power dynamic thing...make that very clear.
Remember...honesty truly is the best policy.
Fourth...be patient. Lots people have been searching for many many moons....this is the reality of it. Also, don't put all your eggs in one basket....look offline. You never know, that cute little chica at the checkout counter you see everyday might be kinkier than you ever thought she could be.
Finally, I hope you do a bit of lurking around the boards...it can be a tough crowd but that doesn't mean its not worth it.
