*giggle*

YSG -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 6:19:53 AM)

Hes on Good Morning America right now. He cleans up pretty well, and he seems like such a nice, humble guy. I love that the Cavs offered him a job. I hope he comes here to Cleveland, I would love to hear him calling games with Austin Carr.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 6:39:22 AM)

I saw him on the news last night, and thought it was such a great story! Loved the guys voice!

Louve00 -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 8:55:18 AM)

Yep!  I saw this on tv too, last night.  And the Today Show did an interview with him this morning.  He's also a very humble sort of guy.  Let's hope he's truly gotten rid of his demons, so he can take good advantage of this opportunity or....second chance.  [:)]

servantforuse -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 12:08:56 PM)

If they mentioned his past contacts with law enforcement it would have ruined the story.

GreedyTop -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 12:44:12 PM)

he said himself that he'd had issues with drugs and alcohol.. and since he is now homeless, IMO, 'contacts' with law enforcement would be a given.

PyrotheClown -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 12:46:14 PM)

I kinda wanna see a vid of him telling off the cops now thou [sm=evil.gif]

GreedyTop -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 12:50:08 PM)

yeah.. I can get a visual of some Brney Fife voiced cop telling HANDS ON YOUR HEAD!!  while he uses that voice to calm to cop down,,. "yes sir, I'm moving slowly..see?..."

PyrotheClown -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 12:55:15 PM)

I'd pay to hear him say "fucking pig" just once lol

Especially if he were drunk

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/6/2011 5:06:19 PM)

The Guy is has a criminal record two decades long, for forgery, robbery and burglary, escape from jail, possession for use and with intent AND he owes tens of thousands of dollars in back child support.

Let's hope with all the money the NFL, NBA, NBC, Kraft Foods et al are offering him, all of his victims, including his estranged family, gets their monies first off the top.

BTW...  in numerous, Williams is said to have had a constant homeless female companion over the last three years... I wonder what she will reap from all of this???

Well you gotta have something if you are ever to pay anyone back, ain't like this is a new scenario for some one who is down and out, it's not like they just wake up one day at the bottom of a gutter(well,a few do, people forget that sometimes the homeless sometimes have kids)

YSG -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/7/2011 7:25:09 AM)

Im willing to bet that the idiots sitting here talking about his run ins with the law, how much money he owes, etc, have never had hard times like Ted has. So hes had some problems, Im willing to bet he will do everything he can to make it right. Just shut the fuck up and let the man have a second chance

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/7/2011 7:52:57 AM)

Controversy sells! There's big money in it. If he's smart, or his agent is, he should not only be able to market his fabulous voice, but his life story as well. Just think what an amazing motivational speaker he could be, if he goes in that direction? It is so much easier to get pulled down, than lifted up, and with so much weighing him down from his past - coupled with the improbability of such a thing happening - makes the story even more amazing. I wish and hope for him only the best, especially if it improves the lives of his family and maybe even the lives of other homeless people (if he pays his success forward.)

hlen5 -> RE: Voice of the homeless (1/7/2011 10:03:14 AM)

I was torn when I watched the reunion with his Mom. I thought it was taking advantage of the drama, but I watched it anyway (so I'm just as guilty, or voyueristic).

I pray he can take this chance and be successful and make the amends he needs to make. I wonder what the odds of sucessful sobriety are compared to the number that fall of the wagon again?

And you think he's willing?

Well good..... I hope your right.

Curious... since I will ask and not make a broad assumption.... Have you ever been robbed, or burgled? Does anyone owe you $1000's in back child support...  if that person were to get a windfall... where do you think you'd be on that pay back list?

This is not some neophyte with a talent unknown... Ted Williams had a thriving and growing career in broadcasting and voice over work before HIS decisions left a two decade felonious path, a mile wide and a family in ruins... He was smoking crack under a bridge on Sunday.... so I am glad he is getting a second chance but I not am cheering for the guy until he proves he earned it. If you think his crimes are victimless, you know nothing about addiction.

And again... where is the woman, who by numerous accounts has been his constant companion, in crime, homelessness and hustling for several years.

I guess she doesn't pretty up for the camera as much as he does. But your right, I am sure he is doing everything he can to help her too.

We will see.
