a bbc documentary, panorama, the secrets of Scientology

it's panorama's second doc. on scientology, but this one includes the testimony of some defectors from way high up.

weird, I used to drive by their home base almost daily, and thought it was some sort of film studio.

Good documentary, that.
Is the one where the presenter gets a bit narked online as well?

Strange video. Only thing I learned somebody was allegedly  followed by church members. The  purpose of following unknown. I can walk into the Church of Scientology (in Vancouver) any time I want and ask questions. It is no cult. The question for me is rather if it is a religion or psychotherapy.

Religion. You don't get the impression that coming off his meds did Tom Cruise any good in terms of controlling his nuttiness, do you?

They tried to recruit my brother.

I explained the cult to him.   He has since changed his mind on it.

I'd have thought you'd be all for it: you don't do medication either, do you?

No, I don't know your family.
Nice to see you getting something right for once.

I'm less than two minutes in and already noticed more issues than that, for instance the whole rips families apart thing.

The end game is to transfer all your assets TO them.

So it is a scam- sorta like Wall Street.  ;-)

The Scientology world headquaters is located in Clearwater,Flordia. Not too far from where I live.I have walked around Downtown Clearwater a number of times. You can usually tell who they are. They all wear the same nice white suit around town. They come in with busloads of people almost everyday. They even have a nice little resort for their private members. This is what a Secret Society is all about.I guess Clearwater was an easy pick for them.Year round warm weather and plenty of sunshine. The Beaches are maybe a mile away.Who knows, makes it easier for Tom Cruise to enjoy a day at the beach.
