First off, I do know that I could just write a Mod a note about this.  I'm fully aware of how things work around here.  I'm not doing that because, frankly, the boards are slow, and it's much more interesting to discuss things.  So, I came up with something to discuss.

Personally, I didn't think the thread about consensual play rape/rough sex should have been moved to the off topic discussion board.  No matter how you feel about the kink personally, there really is no denying that it is, absolutely, a part of the BDSM world.  It is certainly connected with sadism and masochism, even if only on the mental and emotional level for during the act.  That's skipping the whole physical force that it takes to commit the act.  That's certainly sadism.  Depending on the scenario, bondage is often used during play rape scenarios.

So how did play rape stop being a part of BDSM?  At the same time monopoly hookers and somebody whining about their long distance relationship somehow become more appropriate "General BDSM Discussion" topics?  Do folks see the topics that remained in general somehow more valid kinks that belong in our world?

LadyPact, I don't understand why half the stuff posted gets put where it does, or moved, most of the time. What you are saying makes perfect sense to me. Whining about a relationship is basic human issue type stuff to me........nothing kinky about it. Rape play.....yeah, that be kinky! I just did a quick look at General and saw several threads that basically..........nothing BDSM specific about them, but there they are. Like 'The most fun you've had online?'.......that is kinky how?

I just shrug and tally it up to the fact that my brain works differently than most.

LaT, I'm really thinking the person who started the 'most fun online' thread might have been looking for wank material, such as things to do on cam or online role play stuff.  (Not accusing here, just saying that's what crossed My mind.)  If that was the motivation, it backfired and now makes it funny.

Meh, mods are human...to be illogical and bias is part of the gig of having some relevance of power





I mean I love the mods...they are awesome wonderful unbias people that I would love to have over for tea

Politics and Religion is like a big play ground.  There are certain people who you can write their post for them before they ever respond.  It can be great entertainment.

I'll admit, I will be very disappointed in CM if they moved a rape play thread but keep the above in general BDSM.Not to mention the female genital mutilation thread in "Ask a sub/slave".

personally i never even understood the point of separate forums. Seems ridiculous to me since I think most of the regular posters on here don't normally stick to just one or two forums. They're all over the place and post wherever they see an interesting topic pop up.

I think merging all into one and allowing people to just pick and choose where they want to post is a better idea.

I thought it got moved because it wasn't discussing the op's kink, instead it had devolved into definitions. He didn't ask a question or spark any conversation. He just said that his way was best. Which isn't how you get people to discuss your ideas.

Flco, it's not the predicting the reply that gets you, it's the replying in turn, to the post that was only in your head [8|]

I think fun loving, consensual, rape/resistance play would certainly fall into the family of games that kinky people play, but at the same time, I can see where the (seemingly) kind folks who provide us with all this would prefer to avoid having a thread in the main section that might be interpreted as supportive of violent crime, or even just wank-fodder for wanna-be predators.

The site after all is free. And it is a very nice site. So while rape and rough sex are commen role plays and fetishes I can understand having it moved to the Off Topic forum. I may not agree with some of the topics being moved but I am not going to complain. All and all I think the site is managed rather well.

I also agree that i don't understand why many things get moved to off topic or prs forums.  I would see any question about a BDSM concept to be a legit topic in the BDSM forums, to me rape play etc is a major one as i think many people do participate in it, and to me, when things are moved to off topic that have to do with BDSM, it does seem like some kind of indication its not a legit BDSM topic.  To me, the TOS clearly states what topics aren't allowed, after that lol everything else is fair game.

It would be interesting if someone starts a thread as to listing various kinks people know about.

Personally, rape play is viewed as a kink.  We don't view kink as BDSM, although it can be used within it, so it's being here in off topic isn't a biggie for us.

There is no power exchange for us, there is only rape and his will.  If there was an exchange, it wouldn't be as hot.
