Looking to explore various themes of mainstream publication (novel, screenplay, etc) with submissive woman as main character.  Have several ideas, but need some help and inspiration.  Let me know if interested.

I'm confused as to what sort of help you seek (?). I'd be delighted to read and give feedback.

I'm looking for a writing partner to discuss plot and character ideas and to write parts of the story. I have a good editor already at HB. Thanks though.

There are a number of professional and experienced amateur writers here.  You might want to poke through the Creative Writing section and find a few whose styles and subject matter appeal to you or are similar to what you're trying to do.  Then you can contact them directly and see if they'd be interested in forming a writing group or at least offering feedback on your work.

The key to a good writing group, IME, is to find people who really "get" what you're doing and can pick out the strengths and weaknesses of your work.  You don't want people who don't understand or who object to your subject matter and you don't want people who will just gush about how marvelous your work is.  You need people who can give you praise AND constructive critique and give you concrete suggestions for fixing any problem areas.

Best of luck.

Um... why do you have two profiles?

What is HB?

What will you contribute to the partnership (plot and character and writing pretty well is the whole story, no?) As far as needing ideas, the collarme forums are full of inspiration. Really. Just read!

It looks like he has set up the author profile to find a writing partner but weirdly he has become 2 years younger in that profile

all the best in finding a writing partner OP

yes rather than change the old profile, it was easier to make a new one fresh. Not sure why I put down 40, guess i was rounding down, though I didn't think it would matter to anyone.

there are indeed tons of ideas here, though i'm trying to do something different and more mainstream, but weaving B+D themes through a good story. There are only so many variations of the Story of O that you can do (approximately 375,456 if I've counted correctly in the writing section here).

HB is Harcourt-Brace, a big publishing house

I'm looking for a contributor. Someone to write parts of the story with me. A co-author maybe.

Hope that clarifies for any interested
