Its hard to really point out the real issue the Teabaggers stand on.They want to reduce our defict, right? Then I am sure they must be outraged that giving tax breaks to Millionaires and Billionaires is going to add hundreds of billions of dollars to our debt, right?I mean, lets grab our pitchforks and head down to Washington.Lets tell them they need to repeal the bill that gives Billionaires tax cuts so that future generations of hard working American wont pay for their tab, right?Lets go Tea Party,no more, lets go!![8|]

All populists movements eventually fade, but that doesn't mean their impact fades....often, the impact of a populist movement survives for decades.

I hope so.  I just paid $18.95 for my new t-shirt, and I want to get my money's worth.

Well, this has been the issue since the beginning--slogans rather than solutions.

Real governing is more difficult than that, and enthusiastic naivety isn't going to cut it.

I hope hes right. No one thought 2 years ago that the Tea Party would be so popular today either.Maybe Democrats need to take these people serious and not "hope" they just go away.Left unchecked,I have a feeling they will only get stronger in numbers. However, hey,I hope Harry Reid is right. At this point, its time to bring these Teabaggers back to the small little hole they came crawling out of 2 years ago.

Charles, and the Democrats should eject the leftists and communists from (their) party.
Having or allowing them in the Democratic party is *never* going to help them.
Do you think Union Teamsters and "global warming" leftists from Bezerkley have anything in common?
Now there's a gathering I'd like to see; "Hey Mush Brain! Belly up! Whatcha Drinkin?"
"This here's Jimmy Callahan, "Jimmy the Dentist" we call him, he's our..........."business agent."
"Now we don't believe in no fuckin' "global warming bullshit so don't start any of that shit in this fuckin' bar or Jimmy'll take you out back and teach you some fuckin' manners!"

Lets talk about slogans vs solutions. The phrase ' millionaires and billionaires ' is really getting tired. You guys need some new talking points.

mnottertail -> RE: Harry Reid predicts the Tea Party will fade (1/10/2011 12:32:44 PM)

It is irresponsibly premature to accuse the conservatives (rinos, republicans, neo-cons, and nutsuckers) of fiscal responsibility now or at some future time; simultaneously, it is irresponsibly inaccurate to accuse them of fiscal responsibility in the past.

Howz that for ya?

Charles6682 -> RE: Harry Reid predicts the Tea Party will fade (1/10/2011 12:39:56 PM)

I know, the right expects Obama to just wave a wand in 2 years and everything will be okay. That, after 8 years of Republican control. Now,we just need to give the Tea Party more time. They just started.Really?!It works both ways.

Then you are good, because even the teabaggers don't understand their major issue.

Talk to ten of them and you will get ten different "major issues".

3 of them uninformed, 2 of them misinterpreted, 4 of them completely false, 1 of them irrelevant, and all 10 of them misspelled.

Doesn't need to be a prophet to figure that one out.

"The fact is that the Democratic party is made up of lots of different people, and we’re all minorities in our party. That’s the way it’s been for a long, long time. We’re the party of opportunity. So the demographic trends favor the Democrats.

If you look at folks of color, even women, they’re more successful in the Democratic Party than they are in the white, uh, excuse me, in the [laughs] Republican Party."

National Public Radio on Friday, August 15, 2008, Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee

America will be a predominately 3rd world, by heritage, nation within 15 years.
The GOP is, as noted by Dr Dean, the party of the White people, not that the GOP does anything for their base. So the Democrats will rule, the Supreme Court will be filled with Kagans, and that ilk, and the various races that are left will fight over the spoils. Oh what a joy that will be, hehehehe

mnottertail -> RE: Harry Reid predicts the Tea Party will fade (1/11/2011 9:03:19 AM)

Dr Dean is a doctor in that he is a dentist right?  Not because he holds a Ph.D. in political science or in sociology or in anthropology or in all three, right?

Thanks. This was the "tax cut compromise"?

Change takes time. The Tea Party isn't the R Party. It is not a failure for not being in charge of the R Party. Earmarks are not the standard for success of the Tea Party.

Okay...so....for the Tea Party change takes time.  But somehow they expected change to be instantaneous for the Obama administration.  Got it.

Too bad neither of you apparently understands the ability of the leader of a party to effectuate change and the ability of a minority of the electorate in a grass roots movement. Surprise surprise surprise (re Lucyelastic, I dont know igor)

hysterical huh, well it would be if it were not real

Too bad after 5456 posts you still apparently don't understand the magic of the quote feature.

Surprise, surprise, surprise!

This is the flickering candle that gives me hope, even in the darkest night.
