While I enjoy a good ole hand-over-the-heart session once in awhile, that fervor must be tempered by the reality that not all wars executed by our military are justified, not all activities that our military engage in bring us the peace and safety that they are perceived to, and many people enroll in the military not out of patriotic fervor but rather because its the best paying gig in town these days now that the washing machine plant moved abroad.  

Capitalism has gone global while the citizen minions humming patriotic tones are busy endorsing some perceived moat built by the military.

I hear there were a few Tucson cops who felt the same way...and were probably a little let down at the "deal".   :)

While I would agree that not all wars are justified this has nothing to do with the troops.

It matters not why any of them signed up.  They are doing their duty and deserve nothing less than our full support.

If you wish bitch at the politicians about why the troops are fighting feel free.

What I am surprised about is that the Westboro nutjobs have gotten away with their hate speech for as long as they have.These nutjobs are only out seeking attention and thats its,nothing else.To use a dead persons funeral,in this case,Tucson,just for attention is nothing short of gutless.Yet they do it.I mean,everything you ever need to know about them is on Wikipedia.Who runs the church,where their church is at,what they stand for and what they claim they are not for.They are such a small church and yet they have caused so much hell for people.

there are those on the right and left both that use the "free speech" argument to slam crap down our throats. both are despicable.

both are gutless.

Why yes, thank you for noticing.  Although why the users in this forum resort to namecalling and personal attacks far more than any others always gives us pause.

So to those following this trainwreck, if your post disappears, it most likely either fell into the category above, or quoted a post that fell into the category above.
