Well the question: Why don't I write about cross dressing was an interesting one to show up in my mail box. Nice I suppose to know that someone had taken the time to read what I had written about to notice, that, no, I don't write about cross dressing although I have written about a boy I knew who had a predilection for wearing pink knickers.
The reason why I don't write about CD is because what people wear generally never really bothers me and I know cross dressers who are both TV's and trans gendering persons and don't connect with the BDSM scene.
What I write about as Prin tends to be about my emotional response to power play of one sort or the other.
So my questions are:
What do you write about (in journal or diary or short story) form?
What don't or won't you write about and why.

This thread makes absolutely no sense to Me.  Why would you write about subjects that don't even make your interest list?  Aside from the fact that you have trans folks listed in your 'searching for' column (which really, you're searching for anybody and everybody, because you have every single category checked) there's no reason for anybody to think it would be something you would want to write about.  Unless you wanted a subject that you had who knows how little experience to write about that may not even be a kink you have first hand or relationship.  In short, I think the person who wrote you with this question is a twit.

As to your question, I do write in My journal and those entries are usually linked to events that I am planning to attend.  I don't write stories or erotica for folks on the site to get their wank fodder for free.  I had no need for people subscribing to My journal with that motivation.  From time to time, I'll write something in the forums that is a bit spicy, but very rarely is that ever fantasy.  It's things I've done at one point or another, so it's more recollection.

There are more things that I don't write about, than I do write about.  And I don't need to explain that to anyone.

my journal is rarely bdsm related. It's usually just a quote eluding to my emotions that day or a rant or pondering. I don't keep a diary or any other kind of writing.

Yeah I know, boring huh? I like boring though.

I keep a kink journal, that is written entirely on trains (I live an hour out of London, so I write when I'm coming home from an event/seeing someone). I love reading back and seeing my relationships develop, seeing the changes in the way I talk about the people close to me, the details that seemed worth noting before I'd seen them a hundred times...

I also have a twitter account where I tweet anonymised details about scenes I've done. I love the challenge of condensing hours of interaction with someone into 140 characters, so in that respect I'm motivated more by my love of geeky editing than any kind of exhibitionism. (Not that I'm not also kind of exhibitionist about it - I love how infuriated my friends get when I won't say who I'm writing about :D)

quote:

Actual names. Everyone in my journal has a nickname in place of their real name (some people have about twenty). The tweets are totally anonymous. I don't think they'd actually have to be - I suspect most of my play partners would be perfectly happy to be named, especially when I'm talking about public play. But I like how worked up it gets people. (Tease? Moi?)

Sex itself on twitter. I'll get vaguely sexy on fridays, but even that tends to skirt around actual sex. It's notable that the tweets the platonic Mr Curious tends to compliment me on are the ones about kissing and holding hands; I think we share an aesthetic there. Talking about actual sex in public feels like I'm violating something intimate (except in the special case of fridays, when I'm talking about one specific person who I know is reading).

One man. He won't ever turn up on my twitter. He's the only friend of mine it would bother, so it won't happen.

No diary here, I kept one for a year in 1977 and it makes painful reading 34 yrs later. Mind you , it certainly has aided my tolerance of my children's angsty-screw-ups and if I've ever got *parenty-supercilious-crappitis*, a quick flick through a page or two and I can deflate myself in a jiffy.

I don't write about anything that I'm not the least interested in, or have any informed opinion or experience in/on.............and I DO write about about the opposite if I'm in the mood.

I've never written about people whose first impulse is to sneer and spew vitriol. I've never written about that my last lover loved my use of the term "tectonic plates".

I don't share my thoughts in a journal because I am saving it all up for my future bestseller.

I also don't do alot of any of the social networking sites. The irony is that I work in digital media, but that is my job.

I am totally over, the oversharing that most people do. Truly, I don't need to tell you what I am doing every moment and I certainly don't need to know what you are doing.

The people I care about in my life, I actually talk to. I understand that the purpose of a journal in many cases is an exercise in developing self awareness, but I already have that and my thoughts, so no need to write it all down.

P.S. I don't mind when people post in colored font; people who get upset about that and post about it constantly have way too many anger issues.

I used to get requests like that when I was a more public writer. What happens is people like your style or like what you say about other subjects so they ask you why you aren't writing about their favorite subject. Yeah, it's kind of thoughtless to do that, all they'd have to do is ask themselves why they are writing about something that doesn't interest them, but often people treat someone who writes regularly and publically like a TV show into which they can give imput. They want to see their own espisodes covered. (smiles and shakes head) Once in a while I used to oblige, just for the fun of seeing if I could write about something I'd never consider writing about on my own. But not often.

People who chat get that too. Once someone appeared in my private window and said to me, "Help! I'm a little man in your pocket! I can't get out!" It amused me so I took it from there. He was totally horrified and also intensely turned on once I had put him in a sandwich and raised it to my lips. :D But it wasn't that fun for me, given my orientaton, so I usually didn't do fantasies or fetishes I didn't already like.

I didn't want to appear rude in my response to that person who write. But I have to admit that my initial response was very near to the way you have stated it.
I think on reflection that there was a kind of masked question in the way it was asked..that actually it was a leading question meaning: why don't you write about cross dressers implying that I had some sort of hidden prehudice. Well I probably do, since ir's probably true that all of us have some kind of hudden prejudice of some dort or other.
I have two dear friends, both entirely different personalities, and both in transition (trans gendering) and it would never occur to me to think of them as cross dressers as they dress as their chosen gender.
But it did  make me think about what it is I write about ans that cross dressing, (unless it's about to show up as a fundamental part of a relationship) simply hasn't figured as a major kink or come into my life in any significant way at least not significantly enough to produce a reflection in writing.

Apparently Jean Cocteau wrote whilst on trains. Anais Nin loved to write whilst on her house boat. I love that sense of suspension of responsibilty and always write if I am on a train. When I look back on submission being on a train reminds me of that......
I love twitter also and the fact that it enforces 140 charaxters. A brilliant constraint.

My middle son sits next to his hirl friend and they text each other.
When I stated that it was more cost effective simply to talk to her he said:
We are playing scrabble.
Why was I not as innicent at eighteen?

Writing is more than stating facts. I used to write here more and when I did it was a way of soothing my artistic keyboard ambitions. It wasn't always bdsm, but sometimes it was. Sometimes readers would mail me that an entry had reached them and that was my reward whether it was a bdsm thing or another. There's beauty with the right combination of keystrokes.
