Are you smarter then an algorithm? Why or why not?

That question does not even make sense.

Am I smarter than a problem solving method?

Shall we next compare a kumquat to an elephant?

shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

does the trees moving make the wind blow?

It depends on which summer's day.  June 17, 2006 was particularly nice.

It depends on the tree in question.  An oak, yes.  An aspen, not so much.

I noticed that in Star trek they were always using advanced algorithms to save the day (when a near technical disasters cropped up), so it really depends on what algorithm I'm being compared to. I've never really been able to diagnose why the replicators on DS9 aren't producing the right exact flavour of ready salted crisps. You think ready salted crisps would be easy to replicate, given how basic the flavour is in terms of its chemical composition. Alas the replicators only seems to be able to produce the dreaded prawn cocktail flavour.
