In the first few moments after the killing rampage in Arizona, liberals were running to microphones and computer terminals to accuse an innocent woman of being responsible for what a mentally unbalanced nutcase did.

Sarah Palin had nothing to do with this, and while liberals seem to be genetically incapable of feeling shame, you'd think they would've thought twice before accusing a happily married mother of five, a former governor and vice-presidential candidate, of being responsible in any way for this atrocity. But no, that's too much to hope for, since everything is political to a liberal. Any opportunity to smear conservatives, no matter how groundless or sleazy.

My question is - where are the men? When a good woman is viciously attacked by a bunch of spineless cowards, where are the men who should stand up and defend this innocent woman? I don't imply in any way that Sarah can't stand up for herself, but even in doing so, days after the event, she is accused of "inserting herself into the story". Again the lack of shame shown by liberals during this whole ugly sordid mess has been beyond the pale. Accused of being literally responsible for what a mass murderer did, a woman who had nothing to do with it is not supposed to defend herself without being further accused of inserting herself into the story??

Is it any wonder many people consider liberalism to be a mental disorder? The intellectual dishonesty is breath-taking.

It would have been heartening to see some strong Alpha Men stand up and defend Sarah from these false accusations, but no - she is left to fend for herself. What a disgrace. Is this what manhood has been reduced to?

I don't expect Obama or Sheriff Dupnik to act like gentlemen towards a conservative woman - it isn't in them to do so. To them, everything is political, and if their buddies in the media land some blows on a conservative, whether character assassination or something else, they remain silent and ultimately complicit in the blood libel.

If a liberal woman was being attacked and vilified, that would be different - then they'd suddenly be "outraged" about how a "good woman" was being treated.

I'm very disappointed in both conservative and liberal men, who should've risen up and condemned this outrageous slander, but for some reason, didn't.

welcome to the boards.. I totally disagree with your post and your position, but let it not be said, first impressions  do not gauge my further responses
If she cant take the heat she should jump into the fire
oh hang on, shes already done that
she is her own worst enemy and the best of the conservatives on here, dont want an awful lot to do with her either

And I use the word “targeted” almost literally, for one of her political action committee's advertisements showed Giffords' district in what appears to be the crosshairs of a gunsight.

Palin has expressed shock and sadness at the shooting. I'm sure she never expected anyone would take her literally and try to kill one of her targets. But Palin and her supporters were having too much fun playing the political demonization game to think there might be consequences to putting their opponents in a virtual gunsight...

I hope Palin and her Tea Party followers have realized, if they hadn't before, that their opponents are just that—opponents—loyal Americans who disagree with them on many issues, and that they are real people, with real husbands, wives, and children who love them. They aren't enemies or traitors, just as the Republicans aren't my enemies. I just happen to disagree with them.

And there are simply too many people in this country who don't understand that hyped political campaign rhetoric is not meant to be taken literally. .... Please, no more crosshairs, no more talk of “Second Amendment remedies,” and no more likening one's political opponents to traitors or enemies. From my position on the moderate left, I'll strive to do the same.

Blaming Palin or the Republican Party for this crime is disgusting.

It takes a lot for me to want to defend Sarah Palin...congratulations for going above and beyond.

Hardagain, the liberals just never grew up. They think they're still in college doing research papers I guess. Everything is reduced to a popularity contest with them.
Many others are living in their parent's cellars listening to the hot water heater and furnace go off and on as they sit in front of the computer.
Can you imagine a liberal man "standing up" for Hillary Clinton? She'd tell him to shut the fuck up and sit down! If it was Bill she'd beat him senseless.
You see in the "Liberal Village" it's the women who have all the testosterone which makes them both look unattractive.
And yes, it is despicable that they'd try to politicize something like this.
Remember the NYC bomber last year and how Mayor Bloomberg said it'd be a, "right-wing militant gun toting white male with militant bumperstickers on the back of his pick up truck?" [:D]
They just keep doing it, stepping on their own dicks!
The lefties were saying that the shooter was a "military veteran" before they got an i.v. into Rep. Gifford's arm.
When it was found out that the shooter *was not* a military veteran .....no appology, no nothing! Just more speculation!
I really don't think Sara Palin needs anyone to stand up for her given her opposition.
