The recent marches and protests here in the USA have all been peaceful;
and for that I am very grateful. The situation could have been much
worse, as the world witnessed in France last October and November.

It disturbs me to no end that policians are taking their lead from France's immigration policy of repeated amnesties, strict book laws and guest worker programs.

Absolutely. Anyone should have learned from that {And they clearly did}. The Europeans, normally very tolerant and sympathetic to such a plight, became very nationalistic and anti-Muslim/ immigrant overnight after that episode. Who could blame them!
