I have leather ones, and metal ones, and ones with rings.

It depends on the function and the context.  If I want something with good attachment points, then a nice stiff leather with good soldered rings work well.  If I want something to go with a costume, then color and material matter most.

I like the little tiny master locks- light and solid.  Although heart shaped locks can be quite romantic.

A collar is just a symbol, sometimes a tool, make of it what you want.

When I was collared to Master Tony, I wore a silver slide chain with a string of bubbles dangling from the middle and two tiny diamonds nestled in 2 of the bubbles.

Ken has me wear an old bracelet of His that I never take off. Knowing it was His and that He used to wear it makes me feel safe and protected. :) It's of celtic design and made to look like its silver and leather, with alternating plaim silver squares and long black and silver rectangles. Hard to describe but its really pretty, and I can wear it without anyone knowing what it is. Best part, I can wear it to work.

I  have a kittyplay collar that I wear on occasion also. (when He tells me to, basically.) Its sort of a bright yellowy orange leopard print on cotton with little black paw prints, and Master fastened a jinglebell to it, and sometime this week we're going to get a little red heart tag made for it at the petstore :) I dont really have a problem wearing it in public, but I'm still getting used to wearing it in front of people who know me.

I have a plain soft leather one that i can wear out if i wish as it looks like could just be a choker.

I have a heavy leather one with small studs around it that matches my leather restraints. large O ring in the front and can have a lock attached at the back.

The one i just bought is a small black leather with three rows of chrystals all the way around and a small O ring in the front.

my personal symbol of my submissiveness are the matching gold chains around my left wrist and right ankle

Status: offline 		I prefer the solid steel ring that locks via wrench. And matching bracelets, anklets, and sometimes upper arm bands.

Status: offline 		I am not collared but if and when i do become collared i would want something stylish and classy (silver?) that i could wear all the time and then probably another one, maybe lether with rings for play

Status: offline 		It depends.  If you view my profile, you'll see a pseudo-collar that I sometimes wear.  I also have a semi-thick (about 1/2 inch) silver chain style necklace with a little silver tag in the middle.  I've considered having my hubby's name put on the tag, but haven't actually done it.  It can be fastened quite snuggly and I think it looks good.  Wearable in public.
 
If my hubby were to actually choose a collar and put it on me, I suspect he would go for black chrome that locks shut with a seal that isn't easily seen.

During my slave days, I have a furf collar, it is stainless steel lined in leather, and has a o ring in front. Its absolutely beautiful . Custom ordered in size and picked up in Brooklyn.  I haven't worn it quite awhile.  Not that I desire too, but when I did, I only took it off to shower.  I  use to sleep in it, and wore it in day to day life.  I would wear it under turtle necks and scarfs to hide it a little.  When I die I have instructed that I want to be buried in it. Ok, I'm still really attached to it. It really is a beautiful collar.

I like the use of posture collars for my subs, and of course each have their own leather collar which I choose to place around their necks before play, as a symbol of ownership to me during play. I always use locks for cuffs and collars, the majority are Master Locks, and keyed alike except for the collar locks, they are in smaller version and everyone has a different lock and key.

Status: offline 		Wearing a collar when one has to work in the vanilla world would definitely raise questions. However, I was recently instructed to lock a chain around my waist. It's always there, reminding me of my status in life, yet not visible to others.
