Okay, so I just read the last few pages of the thread "What dominant women endure online - a halfway clueless male's perspective" and the palpable tension was stressing me out. I could really go for reading something on the more cheerful, positive side, especially as it relates to male submissives actually stepping up and earning their keep.

So what I'd like to hear from the Dommes (or Doms) is: How has a sub totally surprised you with some sort of unsolicited act of service and/or gift? It could be of a sexual/overtly bdsm nature but I'm actually thinking more in terms of service that's mostly or wholly non-sexual. Something that showed initiative, creativity, commitment and proved that this sub is worth keeping around. Perhaps it's one of the fondest memories you have had with your sub.

And this question can certainly be extended to the submissives out there: what act of service have you provided to your Domme (or Dom) that just blew them away, earned you praise maybe, but ultimately just put a smile on your face because you had the opportunity to knock one out of the park?

Looking forward to reading about some feel-good moments! Thanks!

ThePeripatetic,

I'm going to juxtapose the question because... well, just because.  Contrary to popular folklore, dommes actually do kind acts for submissives.  I've had more than one domme do something special in various situations - things that touched my heartstrings; significantly helped me in a time of need; gave me assistance with pedestrian, vanilla tasks that, none-the-less, needed to get done; showed affection; and remembered me on special, joyful days or days where I might be feeling sorrow.  To add breadth and demographics to the plot, I have dominant friends who live on different continents and that have sent gifts and thoughts I greatly needed and cherished in times of need.  Yes, I realize I'm being somewhat vague in regard to details.  This is by design.  I'm not one who feels the need to publish private aspects of my life on the Internet, but I will say more than once I've had to stop, regain my composure, and take stock of the entire feeling of enrapture when certain people have gone out of their way to let me know they were thinking of me.  Acts of kindness happen in BDSM just as they do in vanilla interactions and they are most certainly bi-directional.

Side note:  Sorry if my post is, perhaps, a tad academic and lacking magic words (of the "feel-good" ilk) I believe your OP warrants.  It's early.  Work awaits.  Presently, I'm wrapping my mind around tasks that have little to do with BDSM.

Elan.

I have been blessed to have a best friend who is a Domme. She has a wonderful submissive who enjoys housecleaning. Several months ago she had him come to my apartment early in the morning bringing coffee before taking me to work. We had time to discuss what I wanted done.

He picked me up later at work and we went to my friend's place. The submissive cooked our meal, served it then we sat talking.

My surprise occurred after he brought me home. I walked in to find he'd scrubbed my carpet, redirected my phone line to the outside of the room instead of it coming across the floor to my computer desk. When I walked into the kitchen he'd placed a vase on the stove with a lovely bouquet of my favourite carnations (white with colour around the edges). Upon going to bed I found a box of truffles on my pillow.

Even though the hour was quite late I had to phone and thank her and him for making it a perfect day.

I will always remember the first 5 minutes of Otter being in my home. I had invited him over for dinner and was at the beginning of salad preparations when he arrived. Immediately after the initial invitation to enter and requisite smile and hello, I waved him toward the kitchen explaining I was making the salad. He essentially stepped up to the counter, picked up the knife, and took up the task at hand.

Now, with some People, that really wouldn't work. Certain people are quite territorial about their kitchen, etc.

In fact, we are opposite in that regard. While I can cook decently, Otter is an amazing cook. I was perfectly happy to stand to the side drinking a glass of wine, and directing him to where utensils were stored.

Elan... I wholeheartedly agree. I would never, never presume to say that it's only a one way dynamic in terms of the sub being the only one providing service or nice things. I know better than that. I mean my former Mistress could probably list off a handful of things that I provided or did for Her that were kind or special. But from my perspective, what She gave to me throughout the course of our relationship, absolutely incalculable! I really can't thank Her enough for all that She provided while we were together.

So yeah, that wasn't my intention when I worded my post as I did. Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you MsLadySue and SthrnCom4t!

I'm sorry our venting was getting to you, OP. Such is life on the internet.

It's hard to come up with a single example of coolness, I hang out with some swesome people! Here's a recent one--my date was taking me to a hockey game, and I was putting stuff from my purse into my pockets so I didn't have to be enumbered. He said, "leave your purse in the trunk, you won't need any money." Let me tell you, that warmed the cockles of this old broad's heart! It was good to know that I was being *taken care of*, even though I have no problem paying my own way.

I know I have done things for subs, and sub friends...because that's how I am. Sometimes I have regretted my kindness, but it was sincere at the time!

I used to come home from dates with this one guy and find origami flowers and birds in my coat pockets and the front pocket of my handbag (never in the main compartment, because I think he knew I'd find that invasive). I never once managed to catch him in the act of slipping them in there, though.

Heh. That was the rugby player. Least cute man I've ever met. He was built like a solid brick wall in human form :p

(My original reply was about a man who slaved over a hot stove to make me duck a l'orange, but I decided that didn't count because it wasn't technically a surprise.)

My sub partner noticed I was nearly out of my favorite hand cream and I mentioned I was bummed because that particular fragrance had been discontinued. Somehow he managed to locate it online and delivered a CASE of it to me. I'm good for the next 5 years or so and get to appreciate his thoughtfulness every single day when I use it.

Another partner heard me fretting that the new piano stand I'd ordered was too tall even on the lowest setting. I needed to gig with it the next day and didn't have time to find or order another one. Even though it would cut into his play-time, on the spot he set up my keyboard with me seated at the right height, carefully marked the correct spot, used my ancient (and very inefficient) drill to patiently create a lower notch on the steel mechanism. Then he painstakingly filed it by hand so it would function smoothly and not catch.

These are the types of things that melt my heart and make me want to go to great lengths to grant someone his every submissive desire. I laugh my ass off when some dumbcluck writes 'I will lick your pussy and ass for hours, Mistress' as though that's something special (to me, it's not...AT ALL.) If he wrote saying 'I will weed the cat habitat and scrub the litter boxes Mistress' or 'we've been getting so much rain Mistress, may I spare you the trouble and mow your lawn?' I might actually sit up and take notice! At the very least, I will remark on his thoughtful kindness instead of flip the bird at his patent stupidity.

Thanks for posting MistressDarkArt! It definitely seems like there are far too many male subs here who focus on sexual "service". I appreciate hearing about the kind of things that "melt a Domme's heart". That moment of seeing surprise and delight in my Mistress's eyes is priceless. Such a good feeling!

Does it count if Holly was in on the surprise too? LOL

If so, I have to share one that is actually in my journal on the other side too. I was having a rough week or so at work - I come home from work one night, and Holly and rob had driven over an hour to get me a new kitten (and he's allergic to cats and hates them).

My lovely cleaned my home and had dinner ready when I got back to Atlanta GA. Plus he had his bladder full, his enema going in, his belly full and his chrome ball weights line up nicely for me on the counter. All without me asking him ahead of time.

I love coming home after traveling for work to a pleasant scene.

Every good sub has done little but lovely and considerate things, but all my pups have to write 'just because' messages and poetry.
Happy sigh, once on a busy day like today, -38'C with the windchill, I got a tropical flower delivered at work with a seasonal haiku my sub wrote himself. I almost came!
Then what I did to that man later that night! My fingerprints must still be on his scalp ;-)

My last pup excelled at 'just because' cups of tea, and pots of yoghurt to eat from between my thighs. I chuckled at Lady Sunn's example, because he would also bustle naked about the house, cleaning up in general then laying out my favourite 'toys', then ask permission to jump in the shower, then emerge perfectly dried, blindfolded and enema'd, proceed to navigate to the bedroom whistling happily, lie prone on the bed and bind himself, or suspend himself from the ceiling joist, and call 'innocently', 'Nice clean pup for Mistress!'

Do you really think I would drive that far and not pick up the tab?
