RO, while you and I don't see eye to eye on alot of things, one thing is for sure. People are whistling in the dark. You're focussed on your path, but really, they are not going to bow to you, unless you drop before they put the handcuffs on. This government is not by the People but for very few exceptions. It certainly isn't for the People. And by the People is out the window. There is no going back. And the biggest proplem is that if it were of, by and for the People, just who are the people ? People who will call the cops if you have a jetski in the driveway, who demand a stopsign at the nearest intersectiion of their house so they don't have to teach their kids how to cross the street, and want to pull out of their driveway faster. People who engage in road rage, as if twelve seconds of their time is worth more than the lives of twelve people. Just think, your life is not even worth one second of their time. And it's not just here, in England they have a good samaritan law. A good samaritan LAW ? Would it have happened if there was not a percieved need ? What's more people in the US are even more self centered and ruthless. They are getting the government they deserve. The problem is the people who do not deserve this societal lobotomy. Those who question the words of proven liars and thieves. Those who don't believe that margarine is better for you, or that experienced drivers need antilock brakes. The world must be made safe for a five year old. Actually I agree, but it shouldn't be done via legislation. How long ago was the phrase coined "There should be a law" ? People want to impose their will upon others. And they elect people who they think will make the citizens of the town, county, state or country comply with their wishes. The ME generation(s). Perhaps the non-believers are not whistling in the wind, but rather have pipe dreams about fixing this situation. You can't do it, nobody can. Through all strata of society, people must go. Many at the top, many at the bottom and quite a few in between. The Amerocentric views held by most actually worked in the past, but as a part of a global economy they no longer hold true. Even those of higher ground, morally, will not vote in desparately needed tax increases because they have no confidence that the funds won't be channeled to the old boy network. Do you blame them ? And then the others. The snobs, the blobs and the whack jobs. Everone votes in their own best interest and everone else be damned. We have no solidarity, and that is why we have failed. But nobody wants to start over. They do not realize that once something is terminal, that means there is no saving it. (hint hint) We simply can't return to Constitutional law. It is literally too much freedom for the masses. It really is. Everyone operates in their own best interest, me included. Why should I care about those who do not care about me ? It's to that point. And this is not just on a national level, it's also personal. I have considered leaving this country, but I couldn't find anywhere I wanted to go. Believe it or not, Russia wouldn't be so bad. Maybe Venezuela. Let's just say not the normal choices. T^T
