junkies will try anything for a high when they're desperate. my dad was a cop for 32 yrs and he saw lots of fucked up things. this one will probably take the cake.

i'm curious what the title of this movie is

It was a Cheech and Chong flick. I'm not sure which one.

At this point, I'd say the toxic brews made from cold medicine, tractor starting fluid, and rat poison, and these legal chemical substitutes are doing more damage to users and society than just letting them get plain old chrystal meth ever would.

GreedyTop -> RE: Bath Salts?? REALLY??? (1/24/2011 10:49:52 PM)

TH..I think it was Nice Dreams, but I'm not certain.

TheHeretic -> RE: Bath Salts?? REALLY??? (1/24/2011 10:53:43 PM)

I'm pretty sure that wasn't it, Greedy. This scene was from one of the funny ones. Up in Smoke, maybe.

GreedyTop -> RE: Bath Salts?? REALLY??? (1/24/2011 11:00:48 PM)

YEAH!! in the van, right?

petmonkey -> RE: Bath Salts?? REALLY??? (1/24/2011 11:04:46 PM)

Garn! i checked Youtube, it's Up In Smoke.  i was hoping for a ridiculous Hippie movie i haven't yet seen. How could i have forgotten?!

. . .

No, it wasn't due to sniffing bath salts.

Termyn8or -> RE: Bath Salts?? REALLY??? (1/24/2011 11:15:44 PM)

The first incident IIRC was when they were in a van, Cheech was driving and Chong had this bag, Cheech thought it was coke but it was laundry soap. Then Cheech takes a big snort and thinks he is going to die and needs something to drink pronto, grabs a jar of urine for Chong's piss test, that came from his sister, who is pregnant. It may have been Nice Dreams, but I think it might be from an older movie.

The only other one I can remember is in "Far Out Man", which was Chong but not Cheech, he was a roadie and some rich guy sent him out for some coke, he said "O don't do that anymore" and all that shit. The guy insists and Chong goes to the drugstore and grinds up a shitload of different OTC pills and whatever. The guy snorts it and dam, near has a heart attack. In fact I think he did, and Chong revived him by putting this guitar in his hands, and plugging him into an amp that shocked people.

Hmmmm, but now that you mention it, maybe bath salts, even real salt ones, no additives, could be intoxicating. I'll take a bath someday and let you know. (<I tried to type that slow so everybody would get it). Now if you grindem up and snort them, hmmmmm. They say you go crazy if you drink too much seawater. I heard it had something to do with a potassium imbalance but whatever. Most likely the effect comes because of the greatly increased absorption rate, drink it or put it all over your mucous, how much difference is there really ?

Now they will have to ban the shit. I'm not telling where mine is.

I had read. Bath salts are reqally a drug compounded in china . Very wsimulqa4 chemical structure as meth. It s used a a dieyt drug in parts of asia.

Termyn8or -> RE: Bath Salts?? REALLY??? (2/22/2011 7:45:48 AM)

Some say if you won't eat it, don't put it on our skin. Think of what people are absorbing in these fancy soaps, let alone anything in a tub of water in which they bathe. The skin is the largest organ of the human body. Sure it excretes, mainly sweat, but it also absorbs.

If not how would a nicotine or nitroglycerine patch work ?

And I agree that's it's ridiculous to tell kids to just say no, while they are bombarded with advertisig for drugs that'll cure just about anything - oh except for those side effects. Then come the class action lawsuits, the structured settlements and then the good folks who buy the settlements for a lump sum.

That's their way of life.

Well, I am not going to eat lotion, Ivory soap, my make-up, paraffin wax, body spray, or sun-screen. I am still going to put them on my skin though.

The same goes for things that get on my skin accidental, such as paint, grease, dirt, or lint.

I also put clothing on my skin, but am not going to eat it.

What about isopropyl alcohol or betadyne?

That 'rule' seems a bit silly to me.

MercTech -> RE: Bath Salts?? REALLY??? (2/22/2011 3:51:55 PM)

It was a Cheech & Chong movie with the snorting of Ajax... I think it was "Up in Smoke" but not certain.

And it was a specific chemical brew "marketed" as bath salts.

Most bath salts are Epsom Salts (Magnesium Chloride) mixed with some sort of sent and often finely ground oatmeal for a skin moisturizer. You can make your own with a cheap bag of Epsom Salts fromt he drug store and a bit of essence oil. the snortable stuff was in little packets for a high price right next to the crack pipes with plastic flowers.

It is getting ridiculous to shop anymore. When in Target, without fail, i will be asked to hand over my drivers license because of what i am buying. Thus far ...

-AlkaSeltzer Plus
-Robitussin Cough Medicine for children
-Bic lighters
-an extended tip lighter used for candles
-Computer keyboard cleaner
-a glitter glue spray
-Fix-a-flat
-Plant food

And i am sure there are a few others i am forgetting. Soon bath salts will be added to the list?

Acetone
Isopropyl alcohol 91%
Cotton balls
Moth balls

I was surprised at not getting asked for ID, and this was about ten years ago. Try it now.
