Public Banking in America: Washington State Joins a Nationwide Movement The bills, House Bill 1320 and Senate Bill 5238, propose creation of a Washington Investment Trust (WIT) to “promote agriculture, education, community development, economic development, housing, and industry” by using “the resources of the people of Washington State within the state.”

I would like to see this as a real trend and implemented nationwide. However, I am thinking the feds will find a way to nip this in the bud. Can't have any national 'private' banking that isn't slave to the fed.

Maybe like Bush did...invoke an 1863 OCC law (Office of the Comptroller of the currency...whatever that is) and find some way to get these banks...out of business.
