Far from being any expert on this and not trying to lump all Dommes in this  but i have seen in my limited knowledge of several Female Dominants that they tend to prefer movies to tv and several do not even have televisions.  They seem to abhor network shows and if watching at all will watch news, national geograhic, nature and more cerebral presentations.

i think they process info differently...probably faster and more efficiently and just plain get bored by the average fare offered on network TV

Ladies...Dommes in particular...how do You feel about this? Do You watch regulat tv or...?

Not a lot.  I do watch True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, and South Park.  Oh, I have this recent thing for SVU.

Edited to list the correct name of the show.

My "shows" are, in no particular order:

House M.D.
No Ordinary Family
White Collar
Bones
Royal Pains
SVU
Castle

I'm also watching Fairly Legal, Harry's Law, and The Cape to see how they develop.  I've been known to watch and enjoy Burn Notice, Millionaire Matchmaker, Biggest Loser, Criminal Minds, Lie To Me, and several other shows which have been cancelled, most of which were created by Joss Whedon.  By and large, my television tastes run high to intelligent dramas that incorporate healthy doses of razor wit.  I despise sitcoms, news/modern history/political opinion shows, and the vast majority of "reality" shows.

art, I have heard that kinksters tend to be more intelligent than the general populace.  I suspect that that's the reason that Dommes watch less TV than most - it's an indication of intelligence rather than any other factor.

No, I do not (see journal entry on my profile ranting about getting rid of satellite and cable). I use my TV to watch movies and True Blood, which I get from the library to avoid wasting my time with commercials.

Do I miss television? Not one single thing about it. Biggest brain drain on the planet. I'd rather play scales in D flat minor on my violin (torture for those in the know) than sit through a 'reality' show.

I am one of those no-TV geeky academic type doms, but I don't think that has nearly as much to do with my chromosonal gender or my D/s preferences as it does my nerdy brain wiring.

We tend to watch (day and evening), Boxing, Kick boxing, fishing (over weekends) and in the morning Neets watches kid oriented programs to find new ideas for use as a Nanny. Frank;ly I'd rather be on the laptop talking to people, or planning new programs or strategies for several businesses, as well as working on one of several books to add to my e-book sales stock. My favorite time spent is in my new business where I specialize in weight loss and wellness. My time is also taken by weekly meetings and regular two-day or weekend seminars. Always communication and meeting people. talking business and building a larger network.

I heart natural history programs. Anything about the ocean.

And Adult Swim. Anime, and cartoons. Cheerful and mindless!

I have to admit, I used to be a TVaholic... but more that it was just background noise more than anything. But Master is not a TV person on the whoe, prefering films or series which he will purchase and watch without the ads. He loathes ads. So I watch TV very rarely although I am allowed (Insertwhatevercountryhere)Next Top Model... (strictly for the photography obviously)

Some days I have silence around me and then others the tv or music is on for background, rest periods or late night getting to sleep. Late night are my chick flicks. I have all sorts of them and use them to go along with whatever is going on in my life. I have what I call empowerment chick flicks, romance, comedy, fluff... but also my based on true life stories. Easy stuff to fall asleep to.

However in the day time I am often educating myself in some manner. I have my loves which are design programs and are helpful for what I love to do. I watch a lot of history, science programs, medical and news. While I work, I flip channels and either get interested or just have background and clue in to things I find important.

I do like a couple of shows like Sons of Anarchy or once in a while a sitcom, but for the most part I don't like them. I like Rosanne sometimes because I can be a Rosanne, or the Nanny because it is silly or maybe Reba, but they are rare.

I let tv serve my needs, whatever they may be. I need fluff it is there, I need mindless it is there, I need information it is there. Music is big in importance to me, but I really want information mostly. Fluff typically comes in my chick flicks late at night or when I am sick.

I like cartoons. Especially Batman ones and Spongebob. I also like documentaries, music channels, comedy and crime shows. I have a collection of Family Guy, BattleStar Gallactica and Monty Python DVDs. I like to watch interesting things but only have a few movie DVDs. I like interesting stuff and intellectual things, but I also find some movies and documentaries to be insulting to the audiences intelligence. I watch the news for current events, but don't trust it as far as I can throw it. It's just another vehicle for brainwashing, discrimination and fucking up information.
So if all Dommes hate TV then I must be some kind of mentally challenged do-me sub.

Don't tell anyone...but I watch Shortland Street.

It seems kind of funny to find commonalities between someone's lifestyle orientation and television watching. I'm submissive and never watch tv. Not even when both of my arms were broken and I couldn't do much else.

Master's a bit of a TV-aholic once He's played all His latest Gran Turismo game on the PlayStation! So I watch a bit more now than I did previously. At the moment, it being summer here, the Australian tennis and cricket is on a fair bit. But shows we regularly watch include: CSI (the original, Miami sometimes, NY no), NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles. the Mentalist, Criminal Minds (to be fair though, all those also have to do with My study); Lie to Me and Master's a fan of Supernatural (I can take it or leave it). I never watched the X-Files when it was on, so we are working our way through those on DVD when there's no TV, and I'm a new fan of Jonathan Creek (so we've just bought those for ourselves for Christmas!). Master will tune into Big Bang Theory which I find mildly amusing, 2.5 Men (hmmm!), and He also likes Scrapheap Challenge and Dirty Jobs (not bad - I usually listen rather than watch as I am still working at those hours). He is also a devotee of Top Gear (which I will maybe watch the first time, but the repeats kill Me!), though Top Gear Australia sucks, and Mythbusters (yeah ok!).

Given that it is He that controls the remote control (well, fancy that!) and not Me ... I may not be typical of female Dommes in this!

The only time I watch TV is when I'm home sick (which doesn't happen anymore since I stopped using the pool at my gym) and then it's Judge Judy type shows. She's so Domme!

I will occasionally watch something online. (Hates commercials!)

When politics heat up I'll watch MSNBC and The Daily Show.
