For one, change the nick. Pick something much nicer, like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Benedict Arnold or Charlie Manson.

Right; well, thanks for the feedback. Yes, I had thought my screen-name could be a factor; although I had forgotten about the 'hover' facility. But don't criticise me for choosing something that says exactly what I'm looking for! And I assure you, the kind of people I was mailing often had even worse names! Thanks to all the people in the US who looked at me in order to offer feedback; I'm gratedul. I'm really not as bad as the name, chosen in a time of depressive despair, sounds. One will think of re-profiling one's self! thanks to you all anyway.

Lol to Fukin Troll! Just by the way, I got criticised for not being sufficiently service oriented'. Bollocks to that! Don't be so precious hun; you sound like some of the IC lifestylers over here in the good 'ol UK. My kink is fetish sex; I ain't interested in gettinginside anyones service orientation unless maybe they push my buttons first! Lets be honest here - either bdsm is really good foreplay for good sex; or its one person using another. Personally, I'm not into being used. Well; maybe if you ask nicely..lol. Could be on the wrong site here, eh?!

No criticism was implied or intended, as I took pains to point out.

The name and you being in Sheffield could be a hard limit for a lot ;)

Honestly, you might want to change

a) your name

b) your profile a bit

It's OK to be open about what you are looking for, but there is something like TMI...

I'm not being mean, but it seems like your whole thinking centers around your sexual fantasies, that's a turn off for a lot of people, you know at the end of the day you can't just always be in perfect BDSM mode, sometimes you want to talk to somebody?

Just curious - I've recently noticed when checking my sent mail that one or two mails have been 'deleted unread'. These are not pestering mails being sent to people who have previously declined to answer, but first time ones to people I've not contacted before, and whom generally seem to be looking for the same kind of thing as me. I'm just a touch puzzled - why would anyone bother to do this? If you don't at least open a mail and glance at it, how do you know if its something or someone you might want to respond to?

Because when someone is new to the site and chooses a username like yours, and I get to see their arse, penis, or impaled anus before even saying hello...the conversations usually lead to a dead end.  Most are exploring D/s through cybering in chatrooms or being a coughcamwhorecough, offering nothing I am interested in.

I usually do not delete first letters sent to me still unread, but something you may not be aware of is that...sending a polite refusal often gets a nastygram in return.  Some choose to avoid this by simply deleting and using block with people they are not interested in.

Personally, I don't like to share...so if a guy is bisexual or poly it's a deal breaker.  I state this clearly in my profile, but...most of the men who make contact with me for the first time are bisexual or into multiple partners.  If you are reading just the profile, I would advise reading most if not all of their journal entries just in case.

Also...a little mystery is good...uncovering that ass for the very first time in private is much better than seeing it all hang out like I've wandered into a meat market.

And finally, I am still on page one of this thread and don't know if others have noticed yet...but the face on that pic looks like a twenty year old, not of someone who is 48.  I know...I'm not really a cartoon cow with wings, but people can figure out that I'm not trying to mislead them about how I look.

Btw, welcome to CollarMe, and good luck with your search.

**********
Edited to add:
I hope you do not choose to take offense and see what I've said as a personal insult.  When you ask something like this:
quote:

why would anyone bother to do this? If you don't at least open a mail and glance at it, how do you know if its something or someone you might want to respond to?

Sometimes we define what we want by stating what we don't want.  (When I asked my ex-husband what veggies he would eat, he answered by saying, "Well I'm NOT eating those mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, spinach, squash, lettuce, radishes, carrots, peas, green beans..."  I have also looked at profiles of men who write to me...in stealth mode before opening their letter.  Just open a second CM window, go into Home, and type in that person's username under Search.  It's a shame now that I have to look at their complete profile just to see if they have left posts in the message boards...unless I open a third window into the message boards to use Search to see if they have posted.  Sometimes being passed over for seemingly no reason...was actually a decision someone made after taking the time to learn more about you.

The "Who's Viewing Me" list may have a very fast turn around for women here at CM, but it must take a lot longer for at least the submissive males...because if I become visible about perving profiles, I am contacted month after month after month by guys I am not interested in just because they see my name on their list.

Your username and the pic choosen for your profile are your own business, and remember that I did not seek your profile out to leave unasked for comments.  You got my opinions because you asked for them.

The new hover mail feature is great; it allows you to quickly scan so many emails and yes, delete unread.

It is not so much the screen name (which is just annoying) but more about the inappropriate emails one gets.

What she said.

Apart from that I already deleted mails unread before that feature came into place when I knew it is a person who is regular an insulting bitch, why should I bother to waste my time to read whatever she wanted to say. Same with a troll who in regular intervalls tried to throw insult at me as he appeared to have had a problem with it that I am serious on here and tried to have his fun with his insults. He succeeded once that I read it but only once as then it became apparent that he always hides his countless profile names, so after deleting his emails about 9 times unread from about 5 different names with hidden profiles, he gave up to bother me any longer and I am pretty sure that he knows now that his favourite game is over for good with the preview feature.

Last but not least there still are trolls who are so naive to believe that you would need a bloke to relocate or that you have to shut up with any needs in your profile and then try their happy dance with whatever insulting emails.

Do I need to read their shit? I have no idea why I should, my email here is just like my telephone, doorbell and mail..."I" decide if I open/answer/read it or not

I had a sub CM me earlier today.  I require some people to read my profile and I believe that it is stated so.

Now, if the gentleman did read further...I am just looking for friends with switchy attitudes. (Yes, someone has his sights on me...which reminds me, I need to call him tomorrow.)

People can read your message by hovering their mouse over it - without opening it at all. They then deleted it, knowing it wasn't something they were going to respond to. In a way, it's kind of like a "DEFINITELY not interested" reply, without being a reply at all.
