We are going through the whole IEP process right now with my brother's son who was recently diagnosed with a multitude of needs.  Feel free to CMail me and I'll discreetly run your question by my brother and his wife, who is a retired schoolteacher.

We had an IEP plan for my son. A child psycologist and an educational tutor were our best resourses for implementing that plan. Perhaps that is where you need to start looking.

You can also bring an advocate to a special ed meeting. Hiring a child psychologist who is familiar with the local school system can be helpful. Otherwise you can request the school system find you a parent advocate, a parent who has been through it and is willing to mentor/help others just starting out.

OP, there are many of us here that are familiar with IEPs, as many of the regular forum posters have (and had) unique and special (needs) individuals in our lives.

My inbox is open.

Pam Lindermann is an IEP in Florida.  She may be able to recommend someone in your area.  Pam Lindermann is on Facebook, if you want to look her up and message her that way.  I'm sure you've already googled and researched the IDEA law, too?  Good luck!!!  Finding help for your child, especially in a public school can be very challenging.

*editted to add, if you do look up Pam that way, there are more than one Pam Lindermann's on Facebook.  The Pam Lindermann I speak of has a green (floral, leaf, or branch-like?) profile picture.

IEPs can vary a little state to state and disability to disability. If you PM me in general the nature of the questions, I may be able to point you in the right direction
