No Rope Bondage

Status: offline 		Ok, this stemmed from the past topic i started about japanese bondage. 
 
Is bondage limited if you do not use rope?

Hell no. 
With all the chains, clips, locks, leather restraints, pervertibles, and creative minds out there....
plenty upon plenty of ways to "tie em up" without ever thinking about rope.

Ummmm ... yes! Bondage can be very limited heheh if things other than rope are used. Ties, scarves and stockings [one mustn't struggle tooooo much] ... saran wrap with or without duct tape can be very limiting <grins>
And then =) there is mental bondage .. and the low intonation of "Don't move girl"  <shivers>

Yes! all very limiting ....

Status: offline 		No way!  There's hard bondage with metal, leather, cords, tape, whatever you want.

And in the textile department- take your pick!  Cords, lace, velvet, strands of beads, heck even dental floss. 

I've even been rolled up into a carpet- trust me, you're not getting out of that easily.

Status: offline 		I know that asian rope bondage (shibari)  can be done in any kind of material,but thats not the point of this type of bondage..many riggers use rope,hemp in particular for certain reasons,one being the asthetics,the connection to the rope,as well as pressure points utilized..  hemp also has an amazing earthy scent and feel after its been processed(boiled and oiled )there is a spirtiual feeling that many people enjoy from using hemp when practicing kinbaku that no other material can produce...of course many of these people are purists and have a very strong bond and need for using hemp rope...I have been enjoying this ancient art for many years now and am not a purist,I infact entertwine kinbaku with western...however, I mostly use natural fiber when exclusivly doing shibari,since I am a lover of heavy bondage,I also engage in chains and leather,but its not shibari to me,its just heavy bondage,again for me,unlike western,its not the final outcome thats the ultimate,its the journey I take with my partner when practicing shibari...

Couldn't have said it better myself. I have various lengths of chains and I think every leather cuff imaginable...if you can think it, you can figure out a way. I do have a short piece of soft rope however, just in case...(weg).

Dont move is a favorite saying of Mine....In this case though they cant move because of the plastic wrap.Not that they would dare to move...lmao
Heck just some nipple clamps secured to the wall will stop most movement.

Status: offline 		I used ripped up bed sheets for bondage. The sub lady I dated revealed to me a few months after dating that she liked bondage. I was a newbie, I said sure thing but I had no ropes or restraints she suggested ripped up bed sheets. They worked great they were fully adjustable you could get them tight without turning her wrist and ankles black and blue. I remember as a kid finding a stash of Penthouse magazines in the woods and there was this stuuning lady tied up spread eagle on a bed and that image always stuck with me, so I was an eager one to see that image live. I would take the bondage sheets off of the bed post after, but it turned into a every night thing and I did live alone so I always just left the sheet restraints dangling from the bed post 24/7.

Status: offline 		Bondage can be done with any thing your choose, on the other hand Shibari (Japanese Rope Bondage) by it's very definition requires rope..

IronBear comments on Shibari being done with chains, I'd have to question the esthetics of any knot done in chain, not to mention the danger of "untieing" a chain knot if your sub is in distress.

By it's very definition Shibari is Japanese "Rope" Bondage.
