I was wondering why they didn't keep the webcam and studio cam vertically aligned.

She's a complete moron.  I still have to figure out why the Tea Party, which has goals that I consider reasonable - cut down the government's size and scope and cost, came up with such whackadoodles.

It's frighteningly simple. A significant percentage of them (perhaps even a majority) are so ignorant, so uneducated, and/or so poorly informed, a moron like Bachman seems like a genius to them.

you can still buy incandescent bulbs, and they'll look just as they've always looked--except that they're more efficient, and you'll save money.

Oh the horrors.

So I'm in Wal-Mart the other day, Muse, on the light bulb aisle, and there is the new cfl replacement for the 100 watt bulb (already banned here). $7.97. Eight bucks for one fucking light bulb. Before tax. How long does that bulb need to last before those savings kick in?

Did anyone watch he SOTU response? Did anyone notice anything odd about her eyes? The size of her pupils under bright lights maybe?

I caught it on Youtube, Ken. All I could say about her eyes was either fire the make-up person, or hire one. If you have a high def link, I'll check it out.

She didn't act like she was high, to my eye anyway, but her speaking style is awful, and the fucking gestures...

Send me the eight bucks. I'll send you the $4 ones here.

Incidentally, they last years longer.

Or buy the new efficient incandescent ones.

DarkS,I dont know why the Tea Party endorses such stupid people. This is why I am not so excited about the Tea Party. If these are the kind of people that the Tea Party is endorsing,it really does have to say something about the Tea Party itself.

Hmmm....... shouldn't that just read:

Yep.
It's depressing there's even any debate about this, really. Surely everybody knows how long flourescent tubes (which are the longest standing flourescent light fitting, having been in use at least since the '70s) last for? The damn things need replacing maybe once a decade. The bulbs don't last quite as long, but most of them are still good for three or four years...

Much better video quality on that one, Ken. Thanks. I agree that her pupils are blown a bit more than would typically be expected under TV lighting. It could mean a lot of things, but a cop pulling her over with pupils like that would probably notice them.

Jeff,

That was hilarious! Thank you!

I'm kind of envious, though. Over here, we don't have any politicians in the limelight who are anywhere near as bonkers as that.

You can have her in exchange for a decent fish and chips place.

I liked the Ron Paul movement, which really was about those core "good issues" contained within the tea party.  But I suspect having our first black president at the same time this movement was gestating is why all the nutjobs came forth and tainted the revolution.  If it had been a white democrat who won, alot of the white tea loonies driven by racial fear would have stayed in the back of the tea party bus (pun intended)

11-21-07 debate, Ron Paul got booed alot, but when you watch it today, he is spot on. From gay marriage, to unaffordable empire, to social security.

1-10-08  Ron Paul shows how the other Republican contenders have swayed away from Republican principles during the Fox News/South Carolina debate.

Why did the Tea Party even HAVE a SOTU response?

I still have not been able to figure that one out.

Me too. Is the Tea Party "part of" the Republican Party or "seperate" from it? "Tea Party" would seem to suggest that they are *seperate* from it.

The trouble with people who call themselves Libertarian is that there's no agreement on what "Libertarian" means. And most Libertarians seem to want gov't to take care of all the unprofitable stuff and leave the rest to private business to make money off of. Seems rather disingenuous to me when they pick and choose where the gov't should be based on how profitable the activity would be for private enterprise.

Just cause you got gyp'd by walmart doesn't mean that they are a bad idea, I can get a four pack here in cali for ten bucks at homedepot......moral of the story, stop shopping at walmart lol

Lucylastic -> RE: Your Tea Party in action. (1/29/2011 11:35:05 AM)

TheHeretic -> RE: Your Tea Party in action. (1/29/2011 11:42:59 AM)

I certainly didn't buy one of the things, Pyro. I was just picking up another couple boxes of the designer 60 watt bulbs for the bathroom. $1.87 for a four pack.

The very fact that she chose to deliver a response to Obama outside the normal GOP response indicates that the Tea party has not assimilated within the greater GOP.

A vast majority of the tea party are intellectually lazy
They latch on to reactionary (vague)ideas quicker then fly's on poop
and hold on to those (vague) ideas fervently, turning a blind eye to anything to the contrary.

How else can you explain it, most of these people watch fox news and have the audacity to call it fair and balanced?

Like a fat child eating nothing but twinkies cause he's try'n to loose weight.

shit, I made alotta money off the t-parties, and some of the shit they come up with is absolutely hilarious

some how they're trying to convince the world that green jobs don't create jobs, that expanding the military and law enforcement is supposed to help shrink the gov. That public healthcare is too costly(even thou a vast majority of bankruptcy is caused my medical costs) and that taxes are too high(even thou their lower then they've been for the past 50 years, especially if you're rich). That illegal immigration is losing us more jobs then outsourcing. Ect ect ect

Hardly ever heard any dissent bout the bank bailouts
a bunch bout the deficit
Hardly ever heard any dissent bout the patriot act
or the war in iraq
Heard lots of people gripping bout "czars" and birth certificates
Hardly any talk of actually trying to work with dems and liberals to achieve common goals
alot bout gun rights and thinly veiled threats towards liberals and dems
Didn't see anyone with voter registration cards, trying to get out the vote, saw alotta people with guns thou

Why don't you comment on the topic of the thread? Come on Mr independent, teaparty man.

You supported them, they are pretty much all morons, what does that say about you?

Charles6682 -> RE: Your Tea Party in action. (1/30/2011 12:59:16 AM)

I remember being at a speech by Bill Clinton. This was recent.back in October of 2010.Towards the end of his speech,he said the Republicans did the same thing to him that they are doing to Obama now.He is right. The neo-cons of the 1990'a were hellbent on getting Clinton impeached in any way they could think of.

The Tea Party is not anything new. They are just a small part in the greater neo-conservative movement. In all fairness, the neo-conservative movement does not really care about which party is better,Democrats,Republicans or any other party. They just care about getting their intolerant views imposed on to the rest of society. The neo-conservatives of the 1960s were against civil rights, just like they are against any progress being made in the 21 Century.

I do consider myself to be a social progressive, social liberal. We can debate other issues but on social issues,I do not change my views.I support full equality for everyone,in every aspect of life.Basically a Social conservatives wish to turn the clock back.At the very least, they do not want the social progress of the past 50 years to continue.
