I wonder if this guy was headed to NY to shore up support for the World Trade Center Victory Mosque?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1351385/Controversial-Muslim-cleric-caught-smuggled-U-S-Mexico-border.html

Mostly, though, I wonder why it didn't make the news here.

I got an e-mail about this yesterday from Michael Cutler a retired INS officer who now lectures about this and appears before congressional committees occaisionally.
And Janet Napolitano says that the Mexican border is secure.
"The Emporer has no clothes."
People have been saying for years now that we'll have to have another attack before we can get Washington to do it's job.
They caught this one guy, how many haven't they caught?

The 9/11 guys didn't bother coming through Mexico.

The border's never been secure. Not ever.  And several people here have described the cost of putting up a "Berlin Wall" secure border.  Probably would require hefty *OMG* taxes.

Do you suppose Grover Norquist will protest too much?

Until something is done to secure the border, we are wide open to anybody in the world that wants to cruise across.

Jaziri is dangerous and who knows what he is/was up to.
I am amazed that Jaziri got caught, only GOD knows who or what is in this country.

I agree with the idea that the southern border needs to be secured, the question is how.

Recently a drug smuggling tunnel was discovered that was more than 20 feet deep.

Granted, it was used to smuggle drugs into the United States, but similar tunnels could be dug to move people.

In theory, one could dig a foundation for a fence along the border that was a hundred feet deep to prevent such tunnels. You could also plant sensors along the border that would detect tunnels as they are being dug.

I might point out that as secure as the border was between east and west Berlin, there were tunnels dug under the Berlin wall on a number of occasions.

Either we care about securing our borders or we don't.
The money we have spent in two wars in OTHER countries that may NEVER end, would pay to secure our borders a hundred times over, and then some.

At the end of the day, we care more about fighting in other countries than securing our own borders.

Any country that is unable or unwilling to secure its borders will deal with whomever or whatever decides to cross them.

So now America and its occupants, will deal with whomever or whatever comes our way, across those borders.

JLF, just like we secure S. Korea's border since 1952 or so now, minefields, sensors and troops.

And those have worked so well, except of course for all the times when they didn't.

Popeye, you would use a shotgun to kill a fly.

Or more likely just whine that nobody else is killing that fly, why should he have to kill flies himself when the he pays the Feds taxes to kill flies for him?

What about the Canadian border?

I think we need two walls. Or at least a nice privacy fence.

There is no need for the neighbors to see this embarrassing argument.

Jeff, Canada doesn't border a third world country but they will if we allow this to continue.
