bbob9978 -> Suggestions for improving my profile? (1/29/2011 11:45:34 PM)

It was suggested to me that i come here to ask advice on making my profile stand out as genuine. i would like to come across as looking for something serious and not just another guy looking to fulfill a fantasy or have a quick hook-up. Any suggestions or improvements would be greatly appreciated. profile

I'm going to be nice, and do your search for you...   I'd charge you, but checks in the mail are so unreliable.

Additionally, I would lose the several (where 1-2 will do), only face photos, because it screams, I don't want to show you the rest of me.   I say this as a big woman myself.

Goes without saying...

You might do better to tell of specific things you do for fun, and what's different about you.   Being open, doesn't make you especially important, since there is a boatload of men who are new to BDSM.
Consider joining groups where you live, to run into real time possible partners.     M

I looked at it.  I didn't find it either terrible or great.  Since you were already provided with a number of links on the subject (in the future, you can find the same for yourself by using the search feature) I'll mention something else.

In My opinion, if you are a male submissive in a major city, you can't expect women to read your profile and receive a ton of mail.  It really doesn't work like that around here.  The first sixty days when you are a "new member" is usually when you get the most (yes, most of it is junk) and after that it dies down.  Males, on either side of the kneel, in most cases can't just write a spectacular profile, sit back, and expect the offers to come rolling in.  I'm not saying that is what you are doing, but if you are, change your approach.

I think you come across as basically a good guy, Bob. That's the first and most important hurdle jumped. I'd just second SexyBossy's comment regarding what you do for fun. (NOT the BDSM/sexual kind, though.) Show some more of your personality, that is.

And do check those links that SexyBossy has provided. They lead to a wealth of good advice.

I spoke to someone who stutters.   I wasn't turned on by it, but than again, I don't know anything about stuttering, causes, symptomatic relief, etc.   I don't like to feel shallow over a specific/cannot be helped trait, but than what?     M

Like making someone who stutters pronounce Bossy Big Beautiful Woman isn't cruel.

If I offended anyone, I am truly sorry.

If it helps, I'm completely hideous.

Hi Bob,

Welcome. My social anxiety and knees were worse when I was 40# heavier, so it is with empathy and compassion that I suggest you work with your doctor or other qualified professional to find a non-impact exercise program and diet that will work for you.

As LadyPact implied, you may have to do the contacting, and there have been plenty of threads on how to write a first email.

Best of luck,

KK

Well thanks for the advice on the knee, I'm working with the VA to have the damage from poorly done military surgery corrected, so we shall see what happens :)
