it's simple.
They return later to email you because they don't remember emailing you in the first place.

They've emailed so many they can't keep track of everyone...

or they hope and pray you've changed your mind later and that you somehow notice something about them that makes you want to be with them.

IronBear -> RE: Boomerang boys...(and girls) (1/30/2011 7:47:12 PM)

I have some considerable experience in Boomerangs (thrown by either boys or girls). Inevitably, the bloody things usually return and either deck me or leave painful bruises. That I am considered skillful enough to actually use a boomerang and throwing spear) for hunting is neither here nor there.

As far as Boomerang boys goes, my view is to treat them as clay pigeons..... Shoot the fuckers before they touch the ground. saves cleaning their messes later.

NocturnalStalker -> RE: Boomerang boys...(and girls) (1/30/2011 8:59:40 PM)

You could probably pawn those off for seven or eight bucks.

IronBear -> RE: Boomerang boys...(and girls) (1/31/2011 5:00:09 AM)

Why? You want to buy them? My only use would be as mobile pells for sword training.

Yes I think I got it. They only come back atcha if you pick 'em up in the first place and their mess.
Even a polite thank you but no thank you reply seems to get interpreted as being in relationship.

Nah it's not that simple. I'm new here but the way I usually roll (both in real life and on hookup sites) is that if I think a chick is hot enough I'll always take at least two, sometimes three cracks at her if I'm into her. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't. Whatever. Life is short.

I get it a lot. I rarely block people, but I also rarely delete messages.

So when I go to reply, I get a precis of our previous 'conversation'. I had one just yesterday - a local guy - who messaged me about 6 weeks ago. His messages were so ill-thought out and even insulting (although he probably didn't do it deliberately) that I told him there was no point in having a discussion. Yesterday I get a chatty message from him, asking if I fancied meeting for a coffee to see if there was a 'spark'.

This happens to me too.

That's how I know they're boomerangers. So do they delete all their mail that says thanks but no thanks. So they don't have a mail trail?

kalikshama -> RE: Boomerang boys...(and girls) (1/31/2011 2:19:05 PM)

That or they're too lazy to read the mail trail.

Buzzzz -> RE: Boomerang boys...(and girls) (1/31/2011 2:30:44 PM)

People change over time... Sometimes, a second chance is worth a try... after that , all done for me.

You're thinking they remember contacting you. They don't. They send out a couple of hundred emails hoping to get lucky. For all you know they're working their way through the alphabet so you get hit every time they get to the letter P.

what she said....but also what preytolife said, one of the guys got blocked when he came back the 3rd time and still hadn't grasp the concept that my no meant being a no.

Damn, I like to be the one spinning out Highlander references.

are we talking about initial emails to which you do or don't reply?

Such is the way of the game and dance, isn't it? But, shall the same "one" live after this dance and game? Time alone will tell who is the Master and who is the pretender.

After reading this priceless gem, I'm so glad I'm on your ignore list.
