Almost whole Kyrgyz government resigns.
spokeswoman Roza Daudova said, amid mounting political turbulence in the Central Asian state.
"Fourteen of the 16 ministers in the Kyrgyz government have resigned voluntarily," Daudova said Tuesday, adding that "Prime Minister Felix Kulov might also step down." Earlier she had said 13 ministers resigned.Kyrgyzstan has been struggling to establish stability since a lightning "revolution" in March 2005 that ousted the country's first post-Soviet leader, Askar Akayev, following disputed elections and complaints about corruption among the elite.
President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and Kulov have come under fire for not bringing promised reforms quickly enough.
Kulov was due to give a press conference later Tuesday.

To bad we cant get that to happen here, lol.

Actually I would. The average length of term for many in congress is probably about 25 years. Over that period they will make millions, life a lifestyle of luxury that most can't even comprehend, lie, steal, cheat and do virtually nothing of consequence that matters to the American people (except stupid policies). They set things up so they don't pay Social Security, long term members will have a retirement package worth up to 7 million dollars. One of the best things that could happen is if the majority died or left en masse. They, and perhaps some others, vastly over-estimate their true need and importance.

I think Ms Dread was being Ironic.
I think a lot of people would love it if the current administration quit, because it's nearly impossible to phuck up America's standing with Americans and other nations any worse than we have up to this point.

Oops, I guess she wasn't, lol...   M

well not Me. I have more faith in the governmental system of things here in the USA then in anyplace else in the world as well as the people who were elected to hold such positions. It truely is * we the people * here unlike the rest of the world and from the President down I think those in the Government are doing the best job that they can do with the tools thats been given them that they were elected to do. Those who would walk away from such public service positions, especially in other countries whos people depend on having them represent them are weak and dont stand up behind their people nor their selfs against the government if its wrong and they were in the best position to do that.

Its a hell of a lot easier to be a part of a process under a constitution of freedom then
to try to be a part of a comunist totaltarian regieme that gives no value nor power to the position.
Being in the position of Power is not a easy a place to be as it looks and should be compensated accordingly. The people speak when they see an ill and go to the voting poles to voice such with the end results of the majority here.

You are 100% correct in your sentiments. However, the manner in which the current administration conducts itself is NOT what our founding fathers had in mind when the wrote out our constitution. And at this point its virtually impossible to get most in congress out of office due to redistricting (DeLay for example) corruption, the fact that big business is who actually writes new legislation while our "public servants" are at a cocktail fundraiser. The majority of citizens are to stupid to realize what is being done to their country and the lame asses don't even go vote.
We are know reduced to a "super power" in name only. While most other countries are advancing we are stagnating or regressing into some form of theocracy with a puppet regime run by oil and pharmaceutical companies.
It may still be in some ways better than most other countries but the questions is for how long. At the rate we are declining its not a question of decades but 5 years? 9 years? 2 years?
When the moral majority (lmao) shut down the fed-gov during Gingriches heyday we say that our governement can function for days, weeks and it could be months before anything serious would happen. More than enough time to elect a new one.

The United States were just 13 collonies then as well and they dident have the kind of country or issues that Our Government has now nor the kind of people within it to contend with. Im sure the founding fathers dident have a clue what this country would become back then but by far that piece of paper is the best thing this country has going for it and the People better do the best they can to keep it upheld I say, I know Ill have My  one vote say on it, and it wasent because of the founding fathers that I even have a say on any political issues here.  OK well I enjoyed Our exchange of opinions  MacComb but its getting about My bed time . Well wishes and Ill be back to exchange thoughts with You again some time.

In my opinion, part of the strength of the US has been based in our awareness that we do face the same difficulties as other countries, and therefore, for example, no person is above the law.  Our founding fathers had seen horrible things and they knew "power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely."  Unfortunately, our current government seems to have taken Noam Chomsky's critique of power as its playbook.  Although the paranoid conspiracy family members have been greatly enjoying telling me "I told you so!"

I agree wholeheartedly. Of course, it'll never happen with this bunch of power-besotted crooks.
Just wait till DelightMachine finds this thread! LOL

I don't know. He seems to seek out all my other threads (might be in love with me, lol) but for some reason we just arent hitting it off like I had hoped. Personally I think he was sent here by FOX News, you know the recruiting grounds for BushCo (Tony Snow).

I'd agree as long as it was all active and former politicians resigned, and were forever prohibited from any public office again. That would probably get us 10 years of honest government.

Or at the very least the hopes of an amendment wherein the public can vote on term limits and congressional raises.

I am going to disagree with the idea of all active and former politicians
resigning because we would loose the both the competent and the incompetent
people.  Plus the power and money temptation would corrupt the new people as
much as it did the old, human nature being the deciding factor.

But having an amendment for term limits and limiting congressional raises,
now that is an bill I can get behind!

If when you say, the founding fathers knew 'power corrupts', I'm assuming you are thinking of Britain at the time. At the time Britain was one of the most organised and free countries in the world. The colonists had free democractic institutions, yes overseen by a British governor who was largely symbolic. The founding fathers wanted MORE FOR THEMSELVES. The American political establishment as largely worked that way ever since.

Citizens of the new USA had less rights than what they had under the British!

Sometimes a little more history and a little less myth and you would see your political establishment isn't all that your school history classes purports it to be.

Feel free to criticize the British political establishment in return. They are also a bunch of turds but they are not a worse bunch of turds.

What? Did you think you could hide forever?
As an aside, exactly what type of "meat" do you prefer to "cleave"?
(Hopefully AkshaCo is on vacation or I will be accused of "instigating" smut laden innuendos for some form of oblique nefarious purpose.)
