ORIGINAL: sexyred1 Even though this thread is the same old, same old, I will throw another opinion in: Sometimes, people are who they say they are, but they may not be who the other person thinks they are. Does that make sense? In other words, too many people online, have expectations of a person and despite the other person being honest about who they really are, the other has a whole other idea of what that is. End result: all these frustrated, annoyed, whiny people who complain about fakes when in reality everyone is real, but not necessarily for YOU. Yes and no. Yes I know that my last disaster meeting obviously had the imagination that I would be a girly girl...which I am not...and which threw him off completely...so yes, I was who I said I am but wasn't aware of it that he wants a girl who wears uncomfortable shoes and hides her face behind layers of colours... on the other hand there are some folks who claim that their weight is 286lbs and you have an idea how they look like and it doesn't really come as a good surprise then once you meet them and realise they are 450-500 lbs...I don't mind weight, but I still would have preferred to know about that as well as about his cat fur allergy which he hadn't mentioned on top of it (as he knew about my cats). He was still from all meetings I had the nicest and we might have gotten further but I don't dump my cats for him...just not gonna happen...also another guy made sure I didn't know that he is wheelchair bound due to spina bifida...and considering I flew quite a distance to meet, that wasn't a pleasant surprise either... so yes, sometimes you or the other person imagines aspects which simply arent the case...but nevertheless some folks also like to hide aspects for whatever reason and are comfortable to do so Totally agree, both aspects happen. I met a guy who told me he looked like Sean Connery. I said which time period Sean? James Bond Sean or Untouchables Sean? He said, Untouchable Sean. I said, ok, send me a photo. He sent one and he did sort of look like Untouchables Sean. He said he was 6 ft. tall and average build. Cool. I go to meet him at this restaurant and he tells me to meet him at the bar. I look at the bar and no one was there except another woman and a guy who resembled Santa Claus. I looked around and all of a sudden Santa came over and greeted me and said, Wow, you look exactly like your photo only better! What do you think of me? He not only did not look anything like Sean, pre or post, but he was about 5'8, not 6' ft tall and he weighed about 400 lbs, and was not average. So I said, well, you lied about everything so far, so I am leaving. He said, wow, you are being really shallow. I said, no, I just don't like liars. And he said...ready for it.... "But I have money and I am really a great guy so I thought you would get over what I looked like once we met."
