i think this section was made especially for you MissFem!

this is 1st time i have seen it ~ i think it's great :)

Ok now for my stupidity...

If you brought roses for your significant other what color would they be?

Everyone who reads the boards knows of the dilemma in my life but if i were to buy roses for my Dom friend they would be purple.

Purple roses signify that the giver has fallen in love with the recipient at first sight.

He took my breath away from the first e-mail...

And is why i always use purple text.

Yep so they say *grins* and OMG not Barney! LOL

this is guidelines i have seen....

Red roses mean romantic love; they're the "Valentine roses," par excellence.

Purple, coral and orange challenge red as the color for Valentine roses. The rose color meanings for these three are as follows:
The specific purpose of purple roses is to signify that the giver has fallen in love with the recipient at first sight.
Meanwhile, coral roses, as well as orange, signal desire.

The meaning of yellow roses is joy and friendship.

We express our gratitude and appreciation with pink roses....

While feelings of admiration and sympathy find words with roses that are light pink in color.

Peach is more ambiguous, as it can signify either sympathy or gratitude.

Their purity naturally enough lends to white roses the meaning of reverence and humility.

I used to buy my mother purple roses each mother's day. No real reason I just liked the difference. I did have to order them from the florist two weeks in advance. Not sure if they have to dye them or something however, they are beautiful.
I've seen black roses as well. However, it may be the same as the purple. I really don't know if they do dye them. Perhaps not..maybe they are some sort of hybrid rose?

ChrisGreen -> RE: *giggles* (10/17/2004 3:04:45 PM)

Three of each colour available, though I would tend to give a miniature rose in it's pot, as I prefer to give living flowers that are going to be around for a long time.

CaffeineOverRide -> RE: *giggles* (3/20/2010 12:10:09 PM)

I like giving dried flowers. Red turns into a beautiful purple/wine color. So I am not sure if I would give red or purple.

Aylee -> RE: *giggles* (3/20/2010 1:15:59 PM)

rockspider -> RE: *giggles* (3/21/2010 4:50:52 AM)

According to a horticulturist friend of mine there is over 30.000 registered species of roses. They come in a host of different colors, but black is not one of them. There is a few which appears black, but in reality they are so dark red that they appear black. Not bad for the the original rose, which we here calls for hyben, and is very common all over the country. I really like it when mine flowers in the garden even that i am not great at keeping them in top condition. They grow a little to wild for most peoples liking. No wonder that my daugther refers to my garden as dads jungle.[:D]
