Are you forced to go to the Super Bowl, pa? Are you mandated that you must attend?

I'll give you a hint, the answer is no. The Super Bowl is not a government property, it is not owned by We the People. Therefore the owners may do whatever they wish. They may impose whatever security arrangements they wish, and if they are excessive, then don't go. Problem solved.

I'd hazard a guess that long ago it was put to a vote on whether or not that area wanted to spemd the money to build that stadium. And why? Oh, because that draws teams there to play. That brings in revenue for the surrounding area.

OP I'm making a rather large assumption based on some of your posts I've read, and you seem like the kind of person who would

A. Start a thread asking where Law enforcement was if they didn't have a security plan and something happened

B. Try and blame it on Obama.

Oh and another thing "the ball teams are replaceable" Not one single solitary human life is "replaceable", just because they are professional athletes does not make them less human without families who care about em.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I call it like I see it.

Superbowl is a waste of time and money like all other sports.   Let's just cancel it.   The only good thing to come out of it is the commericals.   Lets just watch those and do something productive.

surely the Superbowl - along with other major sporting/cultural events - is representative of AMERICA - and calling it off just means that "the bad guys (or just their spectres) win"

I am sure Americans will bumble amiably through the security checkpoints - probably more sober than their British football fan equivalents

its like the old quote when Churchill was asked why he wouldn't reduce the arts budget during WW2 - he is reported to have replied “Then what are we fighting for?"

Enjoy the day - whining, pathetic others - go for a walk, do some overtime at work (IF you work) - loads of people will be delighted if you provided cover I am sure - but (mainly) stop

Actually the first superbowl weekend that the game was broadcast live in Europe (yeah a long time ago), my Division was in the field.   The commander allowed it to return to base to watch the game (at like 2 am) and return to the field for maneuvers at noonish.   lol   I stayed in the field since there were guards to watch the equiment and tents.   All guards were volunteers.   I wonder how much money the Commander wasted on this effort?  Just wondering.
