Mercnbeth's post about a Halloween party made me wonder what costumes everyone would like to wear?

A good friend of mine has access to vintage clothing, right down to the shoes and those fedoras that I like so much. So I'm a Gangster this year. Now all I need is a moll.

I'm dressing as a Witch for work. Tall black hat with a pink wig.

This year I am going with my old standby of Scottish Laird - Kilt, swordsmans shirt, cape, knee high boots, belt, sporran, and some sort of weapon - cant decide between claymore sword or scots basket hilt saber - plus any other assorted gewgaws I might run across to make the costume more 'authentic'

the only thing you need to make it authentic is to forget the skivvies

sporran

What is a sporran if you don't mind my asking? We have a member of our group that always wears a kilt to any type of gathering. He never wears panties either..hehe. I always have to check.

As far as which costume for halloween to wear. Since I've been part of an engaged couple our costumes now have to be somewhat together. Fred and Wilma Flintstone last year. If ever there was a more boring dress to wear it is wilma's. No idea on this years costume yet. I just hope we can interject some excitement into it.

The only event i will wear a costume for is my bowling league that week. My team always co-ordinates our costumes so have no idea yet. However i am wondering if daughter's tinkerbell costume will fit me now.

It's the purse worn over the front of the kilt, Gloria.

Thanks for the assist LadyB -- not exactly how I would have phrased it but sufficiently correct using the archaic definition of purse, I suppose.

I"m bidding on a 3 piece PVC nurses outfit on ebay- so if I win the bid, that's what I"m going as....

The problem for me is that I need two Halloween costumes, one appropriate for work, and one for the kinky Halloween Party...

There's a great costume shop in the area and they rent & sell costumes- it's where I got my French Maid outfit- but sadly have not yet worn- so, I'll probably stop there this weekend.

Cheers.

Rain, Ever notice my avatar? Doug and I were at a Fetish Ball when that photo was taken. Anyway....the outfit consisted of hat...dress and bib. I bought it for 28.00 I believe....it is latex.
I own "many" latex outfits because there is a store in California that is open year round. It is not a fetish store. Just a mere costume store. However, many...MANY outfits are latex. All very reasonably priced. Makes going to parties an adventure whatever time of year.

They have plus sizes as well. Anything from the normal to obscure. I've even purchased gift certificates from them for raffles my group has given out. Nobody has complained yet.

Anyway their website is.
www.funcorner.com

I rarely recommend something, so I hope this helps a few at least.

I was thinking of going "nilla" this year but that was way too scary for Me. Actually a local group I belong to is having their annual Eyes Wide Shut Ball ,, this year the theme is Underworld, so Me and Mine is going as vamps.
