A US senator is in cahootz with a company that produces a fuel additive which greatly enhances fuel efficiency. He is involved in a car wreck and is later found to actually be an alien because of a CAT scan or whatever, he has two brains. His front brain, the alien brain is traumatized and inactive and he then lives based on the human part of his brain, and is actually loyal. It's found that the additive has a slow effect on the atmosphere, converting it to the needs of the invaders. While we supposedly save on fossil fuels, we are polluting our atmosphere and making it uninhabitable within about three decades. It is very insidious. His first brain (that of an alien) does not recover apparently, and he is on our side, although it means defeat for his own kind. The set and setting is about mid 1990s, which means that everyone didn't get a brain scan for a hangnail, but he was in a head on collision car wreck. This is what revealed the whole thing, later. He was a sponsor of a bill to require the additive, or approve it for general use, in the supposed spirit of conservation and such. But after he was only left with the human part of his brain he really believed in it. Until he found out the truth. If you think about it, the tetraethyl lead was not taken out of gasoline not because of lead poisoning, but because it would clog up catalytic convertors, which automakers brought upon themselves. Yes you read it right. No regulation gets passed without muster of industry. You are as close to an insider we have, can you disprove that ? I doubt it. I don't think you would even try. T^T

Damn, Term, I am clueless. No bells are ringing at all. I do NOT remember that episode. Guess I'll have to call up Hulu. I've been watching concerts on netflix (Ramones, Joni Mitchell, Moe, Todd Rundgren, Yes, John Lennon, Dead Kennedys, Miles Davis, John Mclaughlin, all kinds of cool stuff). I would guess that the oil co chiefs had their hands in all the legislation, but that would only be a guess on my part. GT, I have a discount broker I use.
