I certainly hope you are not advocating he limit his profits, why; thats just a communistic marxist socialist sort of thing that I only would think would come from far righters and not moderates such as yourself.

Well, based on that caricature, we are only left with George Soros as a non-socialist devoid of OPM, and of course that more or less rules out Warren Buffet.

In any case, I believe he says the money is his, and aint that what courts are for.

If it turns out it is, then they are robber barons and rightwing socialists, n'est ce pas?

I find it funny that you could even say that Flint, with a population of a little over 100,000 is big enough to have suburbs, but let's go with that.

The "toney suburb",  Davison, where he was raised doesn't seem to be all that tony (and yes, there is no 'e' in that) based on annual income:

The median income for a household in the city was $37,482, and the median income for a family was $51,925. Males had a median income of $42,719 versus $28,222 for females. The per capita income for the city was $24,449.

So Moore is suing the distributors of his movie for profitsfrom the movie they tried to hide from him? Doesn't anyone pay attention to the business page? This is extremely common in the movie business and it likely is the distributors who are at fault.

It's a 'suburb' of a little over 5000 people.

Moore's childhood was semi-privileged, especially by the standards of living of bluecollar Americans in 2011. His dad was a union man. His uncle I believe helped found the UAW and also got his head busted a few times by strike breaking goon squads.

I don't have much use for Moore as a director. His films are facile, glib, and eschew nuance in favor of fairly milquetoast propaganda. My criticism of Moore as a leftist, though, is that he doesn't go nearly far enough. He has a ton of money and a bully pulpit, but he keeps flogging this dead dream of a sustainable working class lifestyle that's been sold out by both parties to sundry corporate overlords both foreign and domestic. Either he can't see how far things have really gone or he doesn't have the balls to follow through on his vision because for a man in his position, there is no excuse not to come right out and say "Burn it down and salt the earth."

I don't get why this is news.  Hollywood is infamous for using accounting tricks to hide profits.

As an example, Eddie Murphy stole Art Buchwald's plot for Coming to America.  The resulting settlement gave Buchwald a share of the profits, and the moviemakers cooked the books to cheat him, whereupon he filed and won a second suit.

So are you saying that because he has $19.8 mil, he should forgo the other two mil he's owed?  Does this only apply for liberals, or do you think that conservatives should also get cheated out of what they're due?
