Was reminiscing about Texas and the awesome Lifestyle there and remembered how if we were anywhere with play space with subs and no Dommes around one of us... usually me...would be the "designated Dom for the night". i do NOT consider myself a "switch" in any way form or fashion yet i learned to Top, tease, torment even went to a symposium to learn suspension so i could have more fun with the subs . Learned a lot, had a lot of fun . By doing this people who may not have been able to do more at a Play party than just look actually got to play and have fun. My question is does anyone else ever do this? Not really as being a switch but just to keep the party spirit going? Subs do You ever get with other subs and discuss "Play time" and perhaps break out the ole paddle or restraints and kinda "Play your way through"? Dommes, Doms, Mistresses and Masters do You ever find Yourself in a group and want to play and choose a sub from among Yourselves and just go to it? Isn't it much easier at a Play party for a Top, Male or Female to find someone to play with than for a submissive especially a male sub? Any comments?

I've topped other D types before. I don't go looking for them at play parties. If somebody comes to Me to explore the other side, that's totally different. Otherwise, I have no problem with treating people in the role that they have chosen. By the same token, I do not bottom. Last person who asked Me if I did was a couple of years back and got a roaring laugh from the folks in the room. I actually don't have an issue with being able to play at parties. My husband and I have a running gag about when the first time comes that I won't get to play. We haven't seen the end of it yet. I do play with both genders for S/m. I do not go out of My way to proposition other Dominants to do so. There are more than enough bottoms out there to keep Me happy.

For starters, I don't equate d/s with t/b. But even if I did the answer would be the same. Seems to me that some people are going to be more specific in their interests and others less so. For me personally, I'm not top or bottom so I can do both as the mood strikes. I also submit from time to time although that's a more nuanced thing since it's pretty clearly true that ultimately I'm always in charge.

master at one time while we were still online tried to see how i would do and let me explore this side he asked me if i wanted a pet i just said what would i do with her then i panicked and got upset so he just held me and said he would never ask again (good thing about secondlife you can be held). one of his subs also kept trying to submit to me as well and i jsut clammed up and wanted to run and hide she kept doing it and in the end he threatened her with release if she didn't stop. so no i dont even see it as a fun thing to do

I don't see it as doing something to keep the party going, but doing what the other/majority are up for. It's not that weird an idea. Being dominant and being submissive is completely separate from being a top or bottom.
