TotallyDude -> Do you ever find yourself aroused by nonsexual power games in the "real world?" (2/9/2011 5:16:28 PM)

Every lustful, concupiscent nerve ending and synapse in my brain is triggered by sexual power games and power exchange, and perhaps because of this I'm also hyper-aware of power games that go on in day to day, quotidian transactions between people out in the world. These power games of course take place everywhere from boardrooms (the dude don't spend much time in boardrooms, to be quite honest) to parties (the dudes spends a lot of time at parties) to disputes about who gets the last bagel in the break room. Now I don't walk around with a woody every time I see a strong woman take what she wants and savor the victory, like I don't sprout a beanpole if I see a woman gloat about a petty office politics victory (unless she's hot and has a cute way of gloating) but at the same time I can't entirely quarantine the sense of arousal I get from watching power games especially power games that women win.

If a woman imposes her will on me, even if it's something mundane like getting me to get her some coffee or run a small errand, I find that hot. Like I put up a struggle, pout a little, to force her to show that she's savoring the exchange a bit too, but if she's forceful and charismatic I always cave--I mean I struggle but I do play to lose.

Is anyone else that way? Do you find that your interest in the power dynamic translates into noticing and even participating in the real world, or do you prefer to confine your interest in the carnality of the struggle of all against all simply to your romantic and sexual relationships?

Nope.

About the only thing that would catch my attention in the 'real world' in that way would be if I was seriously backhanded, kicked, punched etc....THAT get's the blood pumping.

Of course, a knife would work too...[:D]

lol Undeniably quite hottttt. Violence is deadly sexy...Out of curiosity, and you don't have to answer this, do you ever find yourself aroused inappropriately by violent images on television or on the news?

I'm more aroused by subtler power games but watching physical force is always hot. I also find a weird meta-attraction in watching women who love to watch violence--like watching girls watch MMA fighting. There is something so savage and primal about seeing women who are openly titillated by displays of aggression.

FR

Rarely, it's more likely my reaction leaves me dry like the Sahara.  People attempting to step over my boundaries for power over me in non-WIIWD situations tend to get sidestepped or cold-shouldered.  i think it's a coping skill to protect myself from submitting to just anyone.

It can be tiring, but it feels important to me to not be railroaded by any old schmo, even if that schmo seems powerful. Perhaps part of this is that i'm not much of a struggler.  my natural inclination, my preference, is to relax into being dominated rather than having my submission wrested from me. If someone tries to snatch at it, it feels all wrong. If i just kind of went with the flow of things, i'd end up in some seriously hairy situations, El Duderino.

i mean, to give a flippant example: Vader was a pretty powerful fella', but not the Dom for me. i'd like to keep my windpipe un-crushed, thanks.

Power is my fetish so I notice it everywhere...and exercise it in most of my relationships...and ya know what? People usually follow.

Not real power struggles per se, but if my "femdom engine" is running high, I can get suddenly, inappropriately physically aroused by physical displays of submission or BDSM that are coincidental or something I just "read into." But again, these don't really impact me unless I am in that "mood" -- ie, I haven't gotten my S&M lust out of my system recently.

An example would be a handsome waiter who gets down on one knee to take my order at a restaurant. Or walking through a crowded office and seeing a man on both knees going through a file or fixing a computer. When I am feeling really femdom-angsty, I can look at a man sitting in a penalty box at a hockey game, breathing hard and angry, and I get aroused because my predatory femdom imagination likes to see this as him being trapped and vulnerable.

The whole thing is physical though to me, not a reaction to someone actually in a power struggle over a situation with another person or me.

In just the right context, yeah, that's hot. In routine work and life, oh hell no.

Actually no, in those cases, I am pretty much disgusted with people.

And just to keep things straight, if a stranger came up wielding a knife, I would not fall into an aroused puddle at his feet [:D]. Chances are, I would kick his ass to Texas, literally.

However lol, I do have co-workers who have an aura of violence about them that if they were to slip up and attack me in that way, chances are, it would become real interesting real fast.

And yes, lol, they know this too...but they also are too intelligent to attempt it. [8D]

Wow, very interesting from a Dominant's perspective. We are *totally* opposite.
Perhaps that's why I've noticed (some) people "deferring" to me when I wear a ballcap that says "U.S. NAVY" "Veteran." That aside I'm always "on".
I could just never imagine myself being,....."submissive." I must be like landing on the moon or something!
Interesting.

Power turns me on, but not usually in a really sexual way. It's more of an endorphin rush than a sexual one.

I enjoy getting my way but mostly when I see my way as honestly being the best way. I enjoy witty repartee' and debating. But again, I have to feel confident I am right before I will bother. I don't want to 'win' just to win.

I get a HUGE rush out of working with horses and dogs that have very strong dominant personalities and getting them to concede to my will. To have them want to please me.

I enjoy when I can create a power imbalance in my favour. Regardless of whether it is a personal relationship or professional.

And yes, my all time favourite sport is boxing. Manny Pacquiao is the shit! One of my dream dates would be to have front row seats at, Pacquiao versus Mayweather.

I love watching boxing and finding that moment that exists in so many fights where you see the power shift. The moment that, regardless of physical action, the mental power belongs to one.

Yeah, power is my drug.
