I generally dont care about people's friends list.. Even if its filled with cute, 18 year old girls :)

However, i like to keep my own list clean because of such things as privacy. I absolutely loathe knowing that other people can peek into who I talk to and stuff, so i politely reject friend requests for this reason. If they want to be friends for real, Ill exchange IMs perhaps.
I noticed I have a person in my friends list that I don't remember how she got there X_x

Eh... The policy I plan to use for friends here, and which I do use on other forums I frequent, is rather simple. If I know someone, due to shared interests that have come up, or just from randomly posting in the same threads often enough to get to know each other, then I'll friend the person if they send me a friend request... I treat it as more of an acknowledgement that yes, I do know that person relatively well than anything else. And no offence but the opinion voiced in the OP seems a bit... Shallow. If anyone wants to jump to conclusions about my character from a random piece of information, it sounds like that's their own personal problem to me.

I won't add someone as a friend if they've never chatted with me.  I've made the friends I have through the boards and they're true friends even though it's online.  I always ask before I "friend" them and so far it's been reciprocated.

I find it funny though that someone who's just joined already has a super-long list of ready made friends numbering in the 100s.  Or those who have nothing but "eye candy" friends by the dozen.

Not my style, and I don't care what anyone thinks of my friends list, it's mine and no one is going to tell me how to run it.

i just find it very odd that people want to be my "friend", but they haven't even had one single discussion with me, not about even anything!

1. Does that mean that these subs and Doms are trying to hide things right from the get go?

Maybe, just maybe, some folks don't want to put people on their friends list when they aren't....... you know...... actually friends.

2. Are a sub or Dom who has friends on their profiles more transparent and honest and upfront right from the start?

No, it might just mean they are more literal about the word and don't see the 'friends' list as some kind of popularity contest.

3. Is the type of Dom and sub most people seek think they are the center of the universe and would not be happy to think their prospective partner would have no life prior to finding them?

I'm forty-two years old.  I'd be more worried about anybody in My age group who has never been in a relationship.

quote:

4. Is the above statement the real reason most sub's will not accept friend requests?

I can't speak to the validity of this other person's comment.  I can tell you that if you were dealing with Me, I'd say if I didn't actually know you, I have no reason to consider you My friend.

I would love to hear some feedback.

I'm glad you enjoyed the discussion.
