http://gawker.com/#!5755250/christine-odonnell-will-investigate-left+wing-groups

She's greatly magnifying her own importance and asking for money which she will (cough) spend on "getting her message out".  Yep, that's right - she wants to be paid to speak and write stuff.

I see this as a blow to the GOP.  They will have to either repudiate her (angering the Tea Party types) or accept her (losing the independent vote and possibly some moderate Republicans as well).  Not to mention that she's tapping funding that the GOP establishment would rather use supporting candidates

I dont see any reason why they need to do either. There are plenty of conservative leaning PACs that are neither formally recognized or shunned by the GOP.

The democrats will also have to repudiate or accept the 64 House members that also lost elections in 2010.

doesn't matter to me either way[8|]

Or to anybody else: but you can't have a thread about a right leaning Republican without somebody having a go at the Dems no matter how tenuous or out and out nonsensical the link they make is, can you?

The best word for her is "delusional".

Let's see, she wants to investigate left-wing groups and Soros.

Meanwhile, from your link:

ChristinePAC is based out of O'Donnell's Delaware home, raising concerns for ethics groups given that O'Donnell is already under investigation for alleged misuse of campaign funds.

She's trying to be a blue-collar (ok cheap) Palin and/or trying to be the right wing Huffington to then sell out to Murdock or somebody

None of this is a surprise, really.

Despite the rhetoric, Republicans rode into the House on a wave of generalized anger focused at incumbents, vs. support for Republicans (who were polling even lower than Congress)--and the leadership is entirely aware of this.

The question is what to do. Like the nuttiest of the religious right, once the GOP made the decision to lump them in, they had to start bending to their wishes or risk losing them. The Tea Party may be naive--but they came to make a fuss, and they're going to.

As the GOP continues to hobble together these questionable political marriages, the tail is beginning to wag the dog. At some point, perhaps they'll start to lose GOP members themselves. After all, parties change over time.
