Daddy has to go to sleep so he can't help sooth or bring me down, and I can't sit still enough to watch tv, to much energy and adrenalin pumping through me to sit still an focus, so I am trying to burn some major energy and focus my adhd bi polar manic energy online, but that's not working to good either lol.

I'm kind of tired I exerted myself pretty hard yesterday evening, but I am to wired to go to sleep and don't know where my sleeping pills are, even if I could take them and still function in the morning.

* must focus must focus, must not run at 1k miles an hour like a hamster on a exercise wheel*

I would suggest if you can tolerate it taking a shot or two of 30 proof + alcohol.

Alcohol is a depressant, and is what always takes me off the high end and brings me back to a more mellow state.

SpiritedRadiance I don't think we have any 30+ in the house, and I already have heart burn and acid reflux, and alchol doesn't depress me it makes me silly and giddy, maybe it's cause I don't drink enough and only drink to get tipsy and it don't take much to make me tipsy. so I dunno if that'd be the smartest thing to do if we did.

trust me, nooooooooooobody wants me tipsy and manic, that'd be a disaster , just ask daddy about the time our neighbor shared half a wine glass full of wine with me an I came back tipsy off my ass from a 10 minute visit with her, or the time I had an entire bottle of wine mostly to myself, and he came home from work  to find  me plastered.Or the time he let me have a big cosmopolitan, and I started talking to the drink an telling it how nice it was, and how buzzed I was an how sorry I was I was gonna have to throw it away now, cause I'm drunk and getting a headache.

thishereboy, normally I love reading but when I am manic I am  from a energy emotional stand point vibrating out of my skin, I can't sit still to read, when I am manic my mind is screaming at me do many things do multi task, go go go, do not sit do not relax, and it's very hard for me because I was desperatly tired and I couldn't relax, I was laying there and it was like I was in danger or being threatend, my flight do something, run be active adrenalin was pumping so hard. I did finally fall asleep for like maybe as lil as 5 minutes after about 9 hours of trying to relax, but I woke up coughing and choking on snot that was draining down the back of my throat and since I have a sore throat all the hacking hurt my throat an I had to get up.

I'm not so manic now, but daym I am calling my dr an asking her for sleeping pills or something, cause this shits bad. I spent about 9 hours feeling like, what I would imagain some high dope fiend craving his next fix would feel like

hot bath (I know that keeping still enough to soak cna be tough).

or something repetitive..knitting or such

I have some Valerian Root, which could help you, but by the time I mailed it to you, your manic episode would probably be over.

It's all over now I'm sure...but next time.... Bundle up, put some pepper spray in your pocket, go for a long fast walk. Good for the mind...good for the body...good for sleep.

If you are afraid to walk alone late at night then head to your local WalMart or 24 hour grocery store...shop and walk.

If you don't want to do either then get out or buy a diary...start writing about your hopes fears desires wants and needs.

its prolly not real helpful when I am flying but I multitasking like crazy on the pc. I have not tried either of those no.

Hi Topping,

Did you take any decongestants, or cold medicine with decongestants in them? That drug can sometimes make your heart race. Also exercising too close to bedtime can do the same thing, even if you are tired. Is this exercise regimen you are on a new thing?

January Yup it is, but I've been manic depressive, bi polar and ADHD my entire childhood and adult life, the exercise did trigger me feeling wound up and hyper then I got stressed and anxious over something an then that was the tipping point. and I couldn't relax and my poor body hurts so much an i was jus so tired, but my brain just wouldn't stop. finally I did fall asleep but my sinuses dripping down my throat made me start gagging an coughing an woke me up.

Fight or flight adrenalin rushes are caused by the manic highs which are all a part of bipolar.

I recommend a cpap machine.  I am hyper as well and when I get the gags I just put the mask on when I go to bed.  Mom says that I don't snore then.

Now..to finish this afghan off...hands shaking...I need some meds...LOL!

That sounds purely awful, to be all wound up and finally fall asleep only to wake up because of post nasal drip. I'm hoping your exercise will start to be more routine. And that soon you'll get the benefits without side effects. Rotten timing that you had to get a cold now.

When hyper I don't sleep, so there's no snoreing going on lol.

I'm supposed to be going to the gym 3 times a week and on off days walking around the block, or half a block. I've already been for about 4 walks more than I was ever used to lol.

TY yes, the timing does suck to be getting sickie just as I am trying to get out more for my health.

Have you discussed meds with your doctor?  Get some real ones instead of substituting decongestants or alcohol.  Being bipolar isn't anything to fool around with.

soul yes, I've been on adhd meds before and under the care of a psychiatrist who monitored them.
