Let that roll around for a minute.

That's a lot of rage, deep and personal from the sound of it, and unless you tend to become involved in painful personal relationships with inanimate objects, it ain't about some freaking book.

Let that roll around for a minute.

Of course it is about a book.

Whether it is the Bible, Koran,Torah or the rantings of L. Ron.

It's always about someone who decides they know the secrets of life and how you should live yours.

"But if I don't tie you up once in a while, I see no conflict."

Back when I gave the book report on some stuff I read in the Bible, about the dude, the guy, and the guy's daughter ? (post #31) Anyone notice the dude's daughter was the payment ? Yup as valuable as at least two of my best horses I say, mighy proud of her !

So I can saddle my horsies up, tie them to posts and such. I can lock them in the barn. Them is mine. So is she.

It is one thing for, i.e. the elite to look at the commoners as less human than they, it is another thing to go and enslave beasts, which is a tradition all over the place, it is another thing to go across the world and "relocate" a species that is "almost ? " human, but human nature is that people crave power. All these things are bad enough, but now we are to consider females of OUR SPECIES chattel, females of our own nation, tribe, FAMILY in fact.  The tribal nature of homo sapiens is strong, but I don't think it's quite that strong. It had help.

When these great Men were "posessed" by the spirit and envisioned all these things that were to be done as God's will ever stop to think HEY ! Women are where our sons come from !

I am not stupid when it comes to psychology, but I'm having a hard time grasping this. That these followers believed it. I mean to believe that the creator of all things would even suggest this nonesense.

And, if this omnipotent being can speak to one, why can't "He" speak to all ?

"Hey, you sitting in here writing all these books, whassup ? "
"I had a vision"
"What did you do to get this vision ? "
"Nothing"
"Bullshit, you been this way since you ate the seeds from that plant that killed my camel the other day"

If I stipulate that a higher being is active, I would say that it speaks to all of us, we just each have our own filter. If you believe in a certain deity, that becomes your filter. In a way it is like aligning or polarizing the filter.

To conform.

T^T

I don't think it is about a book, the anger he's expressing seems to be towards the adherents.

Personally, I don't think the issue is that a cult leader ran around spouting off about his magic powers sometime in the past. The issue is that people continue to believe those supernatural ravings and make decisions about how we should live our lives based on them.
