Yes, I heard a mouse in the house !

Now I don't want a cute lil fuzzball yall seem to like. I want a monster. A bigger monster than Mickey the Moose here. I want his ass kicked, and eaten for a tasty lunch. I want a mean sonofabitch with the instincts of a tiger that will eat anything alive smaller than him. I want the kind of cat that if you go to pet him he draws blood. Ruthless, bad to the bone.

I mean the kind of fugly predator feared by dobermans and pitbulls alike. I mean a ruthless, hungry, territorial savage beast, that will kill not only for profit, but for fun. He shall be granted the status of the smallest living creature in the house.

I mean a creature that will kill without remorse, or even a second thought. With malice and aforethought. With HEART ! The heart of a predator. A fugly, scraggly scrapper that will rule the whole block, dogs, cats and alligators alike.

I've checked all the usual places, the alleys seem to be empty. Abandoned cars with broken windows, basement window wells, everywhere. I don't want one of those spayed, neutered psuedocats you get at the pound, I mean a wild animal. The Devil in disguise. The type that would take BBQ sauce to Jeffrey Daumer's execution, and order the carcass medium rare.

Any ideas ?

Craigslist, freecyle, the bulletin board at the store or laundromat.

Cats are very easy to get. Most will kill the mouse. If possible get one that is fixed.

Our shelter has a sale on dogs-cats- over 5 years old is free. so yours might as well.

My cat is meek. But when she gets a mouse- and she is quite a hunter- she plays with it. Tosses it around... before she bites the head off.

Check the posters in Politics and Religion to see if any are feline. They all have the attitude you want.

This makes me laugh, the most ferocious of my 5 cats whats the one that looked like a kitten still and had only 3 legs after an accident.

She'd kill things bigger than she was. Terrorised the local Alsation and god help any of my bigger cats that dared be sitting in which ever chair her ladyship wanted.

If you are serious about wanting to get a kitty cat, I would highly suggest you get one that is fixed.
A male cat will spray and stink up your house, not to mention the rukus when either a male or
a female is in heat.

Besides, if you see one mouse, you probably have more, so only getting
a stray to take on the mouse isnt very practical. The next best thing, if you dont have other animals
around the house, would be the traps or the pesticide.

I hope you feed the cat too in case there was just that one mouse for one day or something! I would put out those no kill traps and see what you get...then you can relocate them...I know some people are not going to like this option though.

Nobody ever has just one mouse. Get the poison and spread it in all the cabinets that you're seeing mouse droppings in, under the fridge and the stove, in the attic and basement, etc. You'll probably have to repeat it occasionally. Because a cat can only kill the mice that come into the rooms, the ones living in the walls will be safe.

....my cat will kill all mice.

and I concur there is ALWAYS more then one. Cats can hear amazingly well- can sneak up- they can be in a dead sleep--- and bolt across the house and kill before you can grab your glasses from in bed.

The shelters have a sale on cats and dogs right now....

your local kijiji.com, find an older cat that needs adopting, they are usually free from people who want to move or found the cat on their doorstep.

Those things disgust me. The deaths they cause are long and cruel, and they catch beneficial animals way too often.

At my former place of employment, I once came in to find a rat's leg stuck in the glue and blood everywhere. The rat had chewed it's leg off to get away after being stuck over the weekend. It died in the wall a day or so later, and the stench was incredible. Another time, the rat was still stuck to the trap, alive and screaming when we came in (and I do mean screaming). I made the genius who put the glue traps out kill and dispose of it, and while he was gone, turned over every other glue trap in the building and stepped on it.

I've lived in several places where the rodent population must be controlled, but I will never condone the blatant cruelty of glue traps.
