It was a while ago since I read it, but I recall that breath play had a random element in it that carried the potential for the heart to fibrillate. If I recall, when the heart is starved for oxygen it creates a chemical means of causing a contraction to ensure it keeps beating, however this was an emergency measure and if the timing was wrong and it synced with the hearts natural rhythm the heart got confused and started fibrillating. For light breath play I don't think it is a problem, but it was breath play combined with edge play then there was a risk. Does anyone have more current information they can share?

Jay Wiseman wrote an article saying breath play cannot be done and considered a safe activity. He had medical training (was he a paramedic??). I read this article he wrote and he did talk about the fact that there is NO WAY to tell when the activity could start a heart attack.
