I suppose the real challenge will be posting confidently, whilst remaining submissive?

Welcome, SleepingTiger. Feel free to post with all the confidence you possess and desire. Few here will expect you be submissive to them and the ones who do expect it probably aren't going to be worth your time anyway. Interact, react and all that good stuff just by being your authentic self here and you'll be just fine.

I'm accustomed to posting quite frequently on other sites.
The whole concept of, and exercise of 'submission' is only one facet of my personality.
Whilst having chosen to identify a need in my life. There are plenty of other parts of me which are anything but submissive.

Status: offline 		Welcome to CM and the boards.  The advice you've been given so far is great.  No need to be submissive in your replies, just be polite and direct, blunt if need be.  Don't get into unnecessary back and forths, and don't take anything personally.  Some people just like to argue for sakes point.  There's some great people here and lots of interesting discussions.

A brief experience, once i mentioned my reluctance regarding fees.
Can i expect a lot of this, or are there Dom's who  do it because they 'want' to and are not in it for the £'s ?

Based on some recent threads about this very issue--probably, yes.  There are also plenty of Dommes on this site who do not ask for Tribute...do not charge fees.... and you may want to read the Admin's FAQs to help get you  started and familiar with things.  A little politeness goes a long way.  If you are talking to a Domme, remember it's not all about you. If you want it to be all about you (and your fetish/desires), then a Pro-Domme (paid) could be a better way to go.

Status: offline 		For the first little while you're inbox will be filled because it shows up on the "new members" or whatever it's named.  So if you don't want to respond, there's no obligation for you to do so.  And you're no ones submissive until you decide to be.  So don't worry about hurting widdle feelings or saying no thanks, not interested.  Yes, you are submissive, no, that doesn't let Dominants treat you like dirt.  Zing back, block them and move on. 

You'll have to separate the wheat from the chaff.  The only person you have to worry about is *you* and trust you gut instincts.  If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.

I've taken the time just to start 'friendships' with a couple of females, on the basis of having a person, or persons to go to for advice.
And i know exactly what you mean about something being 'too good to be true'. Had plenty of experience with 'scammers' on other sites.
A lot of grief at first. But these days i eat them for breakfast!

Status: offline 		Welcome Tiger! Some good advice here and you sound as if you are well equipped to deal with certain issues.

There are plenty of lifestyle Dommes on here who are looking for genuine partners, but you can't blame those who charge for also looking here for genuine clients! There is a role and a need for pro-Dommes ... otherwise we lifestylers would be even more inundated by "Do me" boys who have a whole script we are supposed to enact for them! Much better if they get their needs met by paying for a good pro-D to do just that.

Keep your sense of humour, your sense of self and remember you'll need a good dose of patience too. From the mention of currency (and not checking your profile yet) I am guessing you are in UK so there shouldn't be a shortage of opportunities to meet people. Do check out some of the other message boards (General and Ask a Mistress at minimum) to get to know who the genuine folks are ... some can point you in the direction of places to go too.

I keep going back to my profile and 'fine tuning' it. As i want to make it clear, though i have certain needs and desires. I am first and foremost a civilized and intelligent human being who expects to be treated as such. 
I'm well aware there could be a waiting game involved. But in the meantime i'm more than happy making friends.
