mbmbn, when my sister inherited Annie, the Holy Terror Cat from Hades, they already had a free range cockatiel named Cookie.  Cookie had the run of the house, and my sister was a little nervous about it.  But Cookie was flying around the house, and landed on Annie's back one day and she started walking up and down it, and Annie was in kitteh heaven......free massage!  After that, Cookie took to riding around on Annie's back instead of flying or walking around the house.  They'd sit side by side in the bay window and watch the outdoor birds....both of them chattering up a storm.  They were best friends.

Annie was 19 when she died, Cookie was about 10, she had an impacted egg and no one knew it.  Both were sadly missed, Annie is buried under her favorite tree in the yard at my sister's house, and they are both together probably driving whomever is in charge of pet heaven crazy!

He can be a bit feisty, but many orange tabby's are.

Whilst my orange tabby is my first one I can't compare but he certainly is feisty, thats for sure [:)]

It was hillarious, how he showed my parents and a previous date that he does not want them in his flat throwing his hissy fits, but when Mr. A visited me he did not dare to have attitude with him, moving his tail very submissive between his legs [:D] and got more TLC from Mr. A then myself [>:]

I'm down to one cat, she's almost 6 now. I would love another one, but she doesn't like other cats. Funny thing is, she came into a home full of cats. God rest their little souls. Never warmed up to them tho and she is a much happier cat all alone. So I guess I will let her be the " queen " for now.

Actually, spicy would be the same. He moved in as a homeless boy as his previous owners didnt bother about cats anymore as now they had dogs (thats at least what my previous boss told me as reason why they begged for food there). However, as his mum and siblings were taken on from other staff, I then took him on and whilst they get on ok-ish overall, I think he would be happy on his own and if that would ever be the case (though, I doubt that would ever be the case with my fur family still growing until summer is fixed) I would leave him as an alone cat, too.

currya and pepper were the first ones with me in the UK and they showed him that they weren't happy about him moving in and still show him attitude at times...so at present their cat family is more like "living and let others live". He got more included since urmel is born, as urmel approached him very differently as a kitten than the grown up cats, which is nice to see for me, that he is less an outsider now, but nevertheless Urmel knows, too, best not to mess with spicy...

I also concluded recently that spicy probably has more injuries than the other cats as he wants to make more clear to other cats that his territority is HIS territoritry, considering he was homeless for a while and feels the need now to take more care of HIS place.

but in general I know he would be happy as an only cat, as he had at times moved to my neighbour, at my previous place and completely ignored me, when he had the choice between going with that neighbour or myself. But as that neighbour didnt make his mind up for over a year if he wants to take him on permanently, he continued to live with me and my gang when I moved [:)]

My other cats don't really get it IMO how lucky they are that he is rather gentle with them, as his injuries show, he can dish out differently as well....or at least I hope that he dishes out as much as he gets at times....overall I think he prefers not to fight but only does it when he considers it to be absolutely necessary...

i have a zoo of my own, the cats are: jinx, almost 3 and spooky, about 18 months. jinx's brother resides with my ex, she's the ice princess, only allowing someone to pet her when she wants attention. spooky was an abandoned kitten we took in the weekend before halloween, he loves to be held like a baby and to suck on my earlobes. it royally pisses him off.

the dogs are: a chi/jrt mix named scrappy by the pound people, he's 5, we kept the name because he answered to it. shotzi came from a pet store, a very expensive rescue. she's what they consider legally blind in people. she's 4 and probably would have been destroyed, i couldn't let them do that, she licked my nose when i picked her up. she knew a sucker when she smelled me, lol. tibby we believe is about 3, he is a purebred chihuahua who was a stray, reminds everyone of the taco bell dog. teddybear is my newest, a purebred chi i got for christmas, he's 4 months old. he's a gift and i know the breeder so i know exactly how old he is.

we also have two parakeets, romeo and juliet who are five; a foot long catfish named monster, an upside down catfish named wrongway who's only 4 inches long and a beta named blue all in a 75 gallon tank. the other fish didn't survive the move. my own little petting zoo!
